A new way to look at S&W History Letters?

As I recently perused my cherished cache of Smith & Wesson history letters and ruminated over the states to which my guns originally shipped (listed below), I got to thinking about my friend and co-worker, Phil, now long deceased, on whose bucket list it was to visit each and every one of the 50 states here in the good ol' USA. (Yes, even New Jersey .) It was sort of a competition between him and his siblings. As proof of each "stately visit", they had to mail a postcard to each other.

The thought then wafted across my addled old mind … I wonder if anyone out there has S&W's that were shipped to all 50 states? I know … I know ... that's a whole lotta history letters, so the answer is probably "no", but it would be interesting to see the "geographical spread" that some of my fellow habitual history letter requesters have in their collections.

And, oh yes, Phil made all 50 states before he kicked the bucket.

Merry Christmas to all!

I have a K-22 Outdoorsman that shipped to Minot, ND in 1938 and an .38 M&P Target Model that shipped to Seligman, AZ in 1927. You can add those states to the map. This should be interesting.

Interesting question. I collect US military and also wartime victories so my variety of destinations is somewhat limited, the DPC victories adding a little variety.

MA (2 or 3)
Wash DC
TX
NY (2)
MI
CA (3)
PA

I've got three letter requests pending but probably pretty standard military destinations. (early navy Victory, & Navy 1899, and 1902)

My most unusual letter from Roy Jinks is from 1981 when he was Service Operations Manager and Historian. Not the fancy letter head and a bare bones history with a manufacture year of 1862. It's for a Model 1, Second Issue.

I am not a big letter guy as most of my S&Ws are fairly common specimens. The one I did letter is a Model 10 that I received from my late Grandfather. It shipped to my hometown of Cape Girardeau, Missouri in the late 1970's. So add the might MO to the list.

Here are mine. A bit New York-heavy.

New York (10)
Illinois (3)
California (2)
Pennsylvania
D.C.
Kentucky
Massachusetts
Minnesota

You can turn South Carolina green.

I have one shipped to the City of Anderson Police Department, Anderson, S.C.

How do you find out where they shipped? I live in NC and own a shield 45 and a old .32 S&W revolver

Not sure if this counts because I don't have a lot of letters but destinations from my .22/32 Bekeart model collection I have the following to add. The other half of the .22/32 collection I don't have destinations for.

CA (4)
NYC (2)
MA (1)
PA (1)
MO (1)

Remember if one collects antiques, MW Robinson is going to pump the NYC numbers through the roof. My CA numbers went to Bekeart (3), Hoegee (1) and the two for NYC went to MW Robinson.

I have a K-32 that shipped 3/20/61 to Western scope service some unknown place in Canada...
also an M-27, shipped to Ottawa, Canada...

A 27-2 to Colorado
A m-29 to Wyoming
