Strange Dog Names

My current Cattle Dog came from a long line of Stones. We were thinking, Stoney, Stoner and such and couldn't imagine calling that out.

So I got to thinking and remembered trying to buy a Zippo flint in Germany. It was pretty funny. I really don't have a grasp on the German language and mostly depend on friends and family when I was there. I bought my father in law a really cool zippo like the one that he saw my friend had.

due to airlines at the time it had to be inoperable so I needed flints, My wife had already found the fluid.

Well here I am loose in a beautiful little town thinking I could get me some flints with out to much trouble. That's what I get for thinking.

Anyhow, After a long time at a little mom and pop store we finally realized just what I needed, Stones.

I thought of that and my boy got the name Flint Stone.

It makes sense as to his color and his Yabba Dabba Doo legs.

Our rescue pit bull mix is Jed
Our great dane is Boo
Our inside cat is Bolt
The feral cat that adopted is Marm
Our African gray is Kozmos
Our black cap conure is Marley
Our rabbits Brook and Meadow
We believe dogs respond better to one syllable names and commands
We name our "pet" reptiles; snakes, Russian tortoises, bearded dragons. The reptiles we raise to sell or trade don't often get named.
Some of our fish get a name, but they seldom come when called.
We named the mother fox and her 4 kits when they lived in our back yard a couple years back. Same goes for the deer and turkey with unique markings, etc. that frequent our yard. All coyotes in range are named target practice.

None of our dog names our unique in any way, but knew some interesting cat names...one cat I had would blend into the stacked woodpile so he was named "Timber". That and the name "Whoopie" drew interesting reactions from anyone within earshot when they were called for.

Then there were the 3 kittens I found up a tree while out on horseback. Brought 'em home and researched interesting trios for names, such as Larry, Moe and Curly...Lock, Stock and Barrel...Rock, Paper Scissors, etc., you get the idea. Still not decided, so we went to our hobbies, one being cars. So we kicked around, Turbo, Diesel, Harley, Shelby, Caddy, Bel Air. Naah, finally landed (ooops-pun intended) on 3 airplanes hubby has flown...Beech, Dash and Boeing. Purr-fect!

What would be a good name for this one?

My first dog's name was Mork. Mork was succeeded by Mindy. You can probably guess where those names came from. LOL.

Current dogs include Tootsie. She was a shelter dog and was already named.

Our rather large German Shepherd is Hobbes. My youngest boy is Calvin. :)

We have adopted Boston Terriers and have named them after Boston sports figures;

Yaz - Carl Yastrzemski - He signed the AKC papers
Cammi - Cam Neely
Phylis - Phil Espisito

Next one will be Pudge

My goal is to have 3 dogs to last me into my retired days.

A Dachshund named Schultz
A Labrador named Hickok (already had one named Cody)
A Bloodhound named Blue, Beau or Elvis

A mile walk 3 times a day should keep me and the dawgz (with ample romp space) in shape for years.
