Temporary closure. !!!!UPDATE!!!! 04/04/17

Seeing as almost 99% of the work I get is from this section I'll post this here and the mods can move it if they deem necessary.
I will be going in the hospital for a hip replacement the 8th of March. I've been hobbling around for two years and fighting with the VA to get this done.
You guys who deal with the VA know what I'm talking about.
Anyway, as of now I will be taking on nothing till the middle of March. My workshop is in my basement so no stairs for me for a couple of weeks. Anything I am presently working on or have coming in will be finished before I go in for surgery.
I am so looking forward to be able to walk like a human being again without being in constant pain.

Well I am now bionic. I now have a metal right hip. Airports should be fun now.
I have an abundance of emails and messages about getting stocks refinished and to be fair I am going to answer them in the order I got them.
I am able to do stairs now so I can get to my shop no problem.
Still dealing with a little pain but it's better than listening to my wife whine.
Went out for my first long walk yesterday and while a little tiring it felt good.
So everyone be patient and I will get to you when I'm ready.

As another fellow Vietnam Vet I wish you a steady, speedy recovery. I had my first procedure done out of the VA hospital this past month and I have to say "Job well done and thanks to the VA for sending me outside rather than waiting months for treatment." I've heard that they are sending more and more "qualified" patients outside for treatment due largely to lack of qualified personnel in the VA system to handle the work load. My VA provider basically told me that I could get my procedure done by the VA but that the waiting list would take me months down the line, she told me that she would rather I went outside to get treated in a timely manner..."If I didn't mind." Oddly enough the place they sent me was the same place I used to go prior to getting enrolled with the VA while working for a living and using public insurance, best place in town.

I wish you well in this! I know of what you say in regards to the "VA" issue of foot dragging, but is has gotten much better in recent times. I just had my shoulder "rebuilt" as well as the carpel tunnel on same arm. Don't push your recovery, slow and easy. Best of luck with this! Kyle
