What's your most recent firearm purchase, and why did you buy it?

I just bought a very nice example of the S&W M4006 with the adjustable rear sight. A gentleman bought a new gun from the LGS and wanted to sell his old "nightstand gun". Dealer is a friend of mine who knows I like S&W autos and calls me as I will pay more than the dealer as I have no store overhead. Had a bit of a timing issue, but we finally were at the LGS at the same time, and a lightly-used M4006 was traded for $300.

My latest is a 5906 "MODELO MILITAR", I picked up because I'm always on the look out for rare S&W 3rd gens. If you have never heard of it check out this thread.

65-5 Lady Smith, I got it at a great price, only 6 rounds through the gun. I bought it from a really close friend. I couldn't pass up the gun at the price I was offered.

A very nice condition 5906 I had to have... but now am thinking about selling.

My 915 seems like a good enough exemplar of the breed. Both have new Novak sights on them...

Suffer from G.A.S. (Gun Acquisition Syndrome)

Just wanted to show newest addition to the family. My wife and kids gave me an SD9VE for Christmas. So far it shoots great and gets along with it brothers the 686-6+ that I bought because wife said why not and the Shield 9mm with Crimson Trace Laser Guard I bought in 2016 because I needed a good carry gun and of course, Why not? LOL.

My most recent: A Ruger Blackhawk, .45 Colt. Why?

1. The price was right

2. I'm already set up to reload .45 Colt

3. When I was a kid, my dad had a Blackhawk in .41 Magnum. I started shooting it when I was eleven, and I've had a place for them in my heart ever since. The showpieces of my accumulation are Colt, S&W, and Browning, but I love Ruger revolvers, too.

I wasn't sure about the Bo-Mar rib at first, and I also considered trimming the barrel. However, after shooting it, I've decided to leave it as it is. Factory ammo shoots great, and the only handload I've tried so far (255 SWC/9 gr. Unique) stays under an inch and a half or so from a rest at 20 yards. I'm expecting better with a little more trial and error.

Is this the second iteration? I recall that they recalled (no pun intended) all of the first batch with a promise to reengineer it into a viable product. I think the last time I talked to anyone at Remington about it was it the NRA Annual Meetings in 2015. By 2016, they appeared to have given up.

It is the 2nd edition. It took about 300 rounds of ball ammo to eliminate random failures to feed. During the last 100 the slide would lock back with one or more rounds in the mag about 3 mags out of 4. I am going to clean and lube it, clean the mags and give it another shot. I considered it a $178 experiment.

Other than being a PITA to strip and reassemble, I think I could grow to like it. It groups well and I find it very ergonomic, but until I can get 200 trouble free rounds through it I won't trust it to carry. Both my Shield and my RM380 passed that test on the first trip to the range.

Its a 1954 K38 Combat Masterpiece
I've been shooting a Model 14 and wanted a 4" .
I like 38sp. and am doing traditional BE shooting .
Classic.

Wow, my most recent purchase was actually my 586-8 4", which was purchased (ordered) exactly a year ago today (7th Jan 2017). I've only had it for a couple of months, it took that long to get the order filled by S&W and then a few weeks in customs.

Anyways, I got it because of blued sexy 4" 357 Magnum revolver goodness! And I wanted to shoot revolver IPSC with it. Still need to bring myself around to getting a holster and perhaps making my own (Kydex) speedloader holders because man they are expensive and / or hard to get here.

I'm not super keen on getting the holster yet because of

A) holster wear on the bluing

and

B) $$

I bought this Kahr CM.45 ACP Compact tuesday at my LGS,I wanted one and there it was in the price range I could pay for it.

Just bought a Glock 26 Gen4 three days ago. I wanted a small (but not too small) and light (but not too light) double stack to go along with my Shield 9. The M&P 9c is a little too heavy for my taste. I learned to shoot handguns on the G26, so I knew I would like it.

Mine was an S&W 4006. Local P.D. traded in 15 or 20 two years ago too my LGS on new M&P's. I was able to hand pick the nicest one, with night sights that still work, matching case and three 11 round ban era magazines out the door for $350.

Bought this because when I got into handguns seriously awhile back I picked .40 as my caliber. Nothing against 9mm or .45acp I've had and enjoy both, but .40 was different and interesting. I've got about 2,500 rounds of .40 that I've loaded over the past few years and I've been without a .40 pistol for about a year. All lead so as much as I like them another Glock was out of the question. Even though I have an aftermarket match barrel for a G22.

Sauer & Sohn 38H, a 32ACP pistol produced from 1938 to 1945. Well before Sig and Sauer merged.

The lever above the mag-release is a decocker - and a re-cocker. Very interesting design, a bit heavy but feels great in the hand.

This in NOT my actual pistol, but a photo borrowed from another forum, with thanks. Photos of mine when it comes home. :)

A Sphinx SDP Compact in grey, as new in box for $600. It is a Swiss CZ knockoff and I have wanted one for a few years. As a side note I ordered a few CZ mags from Greg Cote LLC, good price, fast delivery and they fit the Sphinx at about 60% of the cost of Sphinx mags.

A Smith & Wesson 457. Why? Because it's a Smith & Wesson 457. In great shape, two magazines, box, paperwork. The Spec. Ord. date starts with 9, so I don't know if was made in 1999 (most likely) or 2009. Supposedly production ceased in 2006, but you all know how that goes with S&W.

Lots of Model 41/ but .44 Special is Dying

Just looked at what people are buying. Lot of great Model 41's, and shields. Not many types of .44 special, in any model. Do you think .44 special is not really wanted. I see people buying some very expensive guns, so it must not be the cost of .44 guns or ammo. What do some of you think?

In my case. There is not one to be found.:( And if there was, the rich kids would get it.
