UPDATE

Yesterday I posted how I have to wait till March 3 to take possession of my 27-2

Today it came to the LGS, who is holding it pending release.
I was, however, allowed a brief supervised conjugal visit and took a photo.
The 27-2 is much nicer than pictured in the auction (see below)
The Presentation Case looks worse.
All in all I am very pleased
In person, the 27-2 barely shows any wear:

Words to the wise--Take good photos before trying to sell online

POST FROM YESTERDAY

In New Jersey we have a 30 day waiting period between handgun purchases.

So after recently taking possession of a handgun that shipped from the S&W factory to St. Louis in 1916,
I must wait until at least March 3, 2018 before taking the 27-2 home:
(this picture from the Internet auction)

But I choose to look at the bright (nickel) side.
It will replace my first gun, a nickel 3.5" 27-2 that I sold in the early 1980's :)

BTW, the New Jersey one gun per 30 day period includes BB gun pistols -- but it does not apply to rifles or shotguns.
Go figure.

Another stellar example of a gun law whose only purpose to exist is because it is politically expedient for it to exist.

I recently jump-started my firearms hobby, and after acquiring several hand held firearms in a few months from an established brick and mortar dealer, so as to go through the established paperwork and background checks, my NICS got twice delayed ten days, after already having very recently acquiring a medium size collection. I put a stop to the nonsense by applying for and acquiring my CCW permit. Four decades of adulthood, and I finally finally finally know what it feels like to be a citizen of a free country.

Well, Bushmaster1313, the best that I can do is give you some sympathy because I feel for you having to wait 30 days to get an object that most of us can walk out of the store with within minutes after passing an "instant" background check... but for empathy, I would have to suffer a similar waiting experience or possibly be able to imagine what you are going through... I hope to never do either.

Did I read 30 "between" handgun purchases? One gun per month more less? Or 30 day waiting period? Both are too much control if you ask me.

However, that one is worth the wait! Congratulations!

OK here is a little empathy, I lived in NYS for 44 years, I know the foolishness of these gun laws. That's why I moved to Arizona first chance I got.

6 weeks to get the ball rolling (getting your permit to purchase 1-4 handguns). then 30 days between handgun purchases

This is one of those laws that make you go WWWWHHHAAAAAT?
So you already have one handgun, what does waiting 30 days to get another one solve? Just to inconvenience the buyer, no other rational explanation. Maybe it gives them time to try and arrest you for something so you can't get it. Oh, but you can buy rifles, or shotguns?? Nuts!
I bet that law makes new criminals really mad that they have to wait 30 days, 60 days if they want to use both hands, to rob/shoot somebody.(sarcasm) And yes, first time buyers are just s*** out of luck for 30 days.
One more thing, collect your brass, you may soon have to return it, for a fee, before you can buy another box.

No, I bet he feels like " I paid for that, and I can't get it for 30 days, and that sucks!":)

Makes as much sense as making high capacity magazines illegal. That will stop them from mass murder for sure!

What rational mass murder would want that charge?

Nope, what makes criminals really mad are those statutes which PREVENT them from committing robbery, armed robbery, burglary, assault, rape, mayhem, murder. About the only thing that hasn't been banned is ghost writing lesislation as a lobbyist.

To purchase 1-4 handguns... so after handgun purchase number 4 do you have to go through the process again for the next 1-4 purchases?

Or possibly the NJ State Gov't assumes that no "reasonable" person would want to possess more than 4 handguns?
