not to alter OP's thread. Hidden Valley has packs of mix, several different flavors, mix w/ sour cream and what ever you want to add, probably never buy a dip again. also good on potatoes, fries and fish. just a suggestion.

It's rumored, that a potato chip maker In nearby Columbus OH, is developing, with intentions of marketing, a new potato Chip, called the "Piggy Chip" They are to be all ridges, and contain Piggy parts, the Lips, snouts, ears, eyelids, and toe nails. Rumor has it, that their sales will be aimed at the health food folks,. Bad health, folks, that is. Since the select ingredients are considered extremely unhealthy, and their taste highly questionable, their consumption will most likely be a "One Shot Munch", with a theme, such as "A Little Dab'll Do Ya". Bear in mind, this is just a rumor. From one Chip lover to another.

Deep River makes "Ninja Ginger" flavored kettle potato chips....these things are simply amazing and quite addicting! Seems like these can only be found on the East Coast.
Interesting that while the company HQ is, in fact, located in Deep River, CT, there is no local production...drat!
Fortunately, our kids live nearby to Deep River so we stock up during our infrequent visits.

Potato chips were potato chips when they used to come in a nice big can.
Now-a-day, for a little zing, I use Horse Radish sauce for dip.
Sea food cocktail sauce goes pretty good too. Or at least I think it does.

Rule of thumb on most snacks is if it taste good no doubt it's bad for you. Personally I don't care and love chips!

I guess I want to say I like chips, sour cream and onion, and regular, but for some reason I never ate much of them as a kid, and If I consume a medium bag in a year that is a lot. Never a pretzel guy either. Back in the day, seems to me we ate potato sticks. Anyway, who in their right mind wanted chips, when there were Hostess cupcakes, Devil dogs and Ring Dings to be had.

Salt and grease are the two most important food groups, essential to the maintenance of weight and blood pressure.
I am surrounded by three of the oldest potato chip manufacturers in the country: Mike-sells, Grippo's and Husman's. Pringles were born 3 miles from my house.
On a nearby 2 mile stretch of I-75 we had Pringles, Ivory soap, Jergens, Nu Maid, Fleishman's yeast, Jim Beam, DeKuyper and the Kahn's stock yards. If the wind was right, no one slept.

I try to stay away from Potato Chips because once I start eating them I wind up eating the whole bag! When I do buy them (in a Deli) I only get them in the smallest size bag in the store - can't eat too many that way.
At home I get the large bag of Multigrain Chips form Costco. While they are still not the healthiest thing to eat - they are way better than the fried & greasy chips sold in most places.

We like the Aldi store chips, crackers, and most everything else better than other major brands and they are usually a lot cheaper too.

Try Munchos. They are a modified potato chip(made by Frito-Lay] that taste to me, much better than a regular chip. A Medium sized bag is two bucks.
I have the same problem as others, could eat the whole sack. My only salvation is to put out what I should eat and shut the package and move it out of sight.

Well, you're there and I'm here, so I certainly believe you about Frito-Lay. However, I usually pass rather close by the Cape Cod Potato Chip factory when returning from the local gun club on Wednesday, and some people on this web site would not be surprised at what it smells like - potato chips!
IMO, not the best food in the world, in any significant quantity, but I often eat a handful or two a week.

I normally like the potato flavored chips from Lays, but I do love biscuits and gravy so I will probably try them. Now the wife, she puts potato chips on sandwiches, ice cream and who knows what else. I do like the okra chips idea.
