TTSH What 3rd gen did you see at the show?

They are drying up around here for sure, especially ones in really nice condition. :o One must turn to the Interwebs these days... unless one is really, really patient. ;)

In any event sure wish I could have whipped out the plastic for a 952 back then! Still clinging to my CS-9 with only 100 rounds through it. I outta find a beater. LOL

I think many of us "old timers" wish we had another opportunity to do things over again. :) Wish I hadn't taken that 25-year deep sleep right through the 2nd and 3rd Gen eras, but it is what it is. Can't turn back the clock. ;) I am enormously grateful for what I was able to buy (and hold onto) from my early collecting days. I just wish I had known what was to become quite valuable over time and what I was more-or-less wasting money on. :p Good investments beat so-so investments any day of the week. :D

All we can do is try to make up for it now... and believe me, I am trying! :)

3rd Gen's aren't drying up......... the reality is those who got um aren't letting them go!!!! :D
But...but...but... I was reading (right here in this forum) that Smith & Wesson's semi-autos have "nothing going for them" and that they are "ugly" and that modern plastic is so much better. There should be lots of owners letting them go.

So where the Hell are they??? Jeppo can't have possibly bought them all?

Must be all down in Pennsylvania & Florida pawn shops. :D I've really got to move. ;)

And don't forget the LACK OF PARTS and that the current company calling itself s&w NO LONGER SUPPORTS 3rd gen guns TTSH. ;) :) Regards 18DAI
How could I ever forget!!! :D :p ;) So where do I find all these worthless old metal guns? ;)

BTW, i keep chuckling at how fast that Model 3914 sold the other night. :D Might have set a new record. And that Shorty9 at the same shop a couple weeks back? It not only sold instantly, but the dealer took down a list of names if the initial buyer backed out (he didn't). They said I could add my name to the list, but with several other names on the list in front of me, it seemed pretty hopeless. :p Yup... worthless, ugly guns. :p

"...worthless ugly guns...." You talking about those m&ps TTSH?

You know you can rebuild them with Apex parts don't you? ;) Give them everything the factory couldn't be bothered to. :) Regards 18DAI

Nah... no interest. They are functional, but no soul... no personality... no craftsmanship, history or intrinsic value. :o

Like I've said: I went though my plastics stage and survived. ;) No further interest now for any plastic that doesn't fit invisibly in my front pants pocket.

Film at 11 - as promised in another thread

Found an irresistible deal. Buy an outrageously overpriced rug and they throw in a very clean 3914, free. Why in the world does Jeppo need another plain old 3914?

I visited a gunshop in Thomasville, owned by a friend today. I asked him if he had any 3rd gen guns come through in the past few months.

He said "Yea, a few." I was surprised. I then asked why had he not called me about them. He said he would have, but some guy "Jep something or other" had bought them all up. At full asking price! ;) :) Regards 18DAI

I hadn't looked at a S&W automatic since I sold the first 59 in Wyoming when we moved back to the ranch in 79..

Now I've got 3 of them and two were purchased in about the last month.
I was in a hock shop today looking to see if they had any..
I think I've been bit...............:o:rolleyes:
