I'm probably going through my elbows to get to my ***, in adding this possibly unwanted, unneeded advice, to my dubious advice given in my post #126. the problem that you are having with your Mod. 27 , that doesn't feel right, might be very simple for you to overcome. For an example, my hands are relatively small, and the N frame revolvers that I shot in the early days of my shooting , never felt completely comfortable. Then almost 65 years later I tried the pair of Keith Brown grips shown on the 27 in my post #109. "Bingo", an absolute amazing fit. How I wish that I'd had grips like that to use in Bullseye Matches, and just plain ol' Shootin' back in the day. There are many makers of that same style and feel grips, That cost much less, that you could try, and I'm sure that you would be amazed at how great some of them, would make your 27 feel. Don't give up on that great 27 without trying good grips. My 2¢ on the matter.
