Are you an ammo hoarder?

If you are able and willing to bribe (tip) the mower repair shop to move your mower up in the repair line, you might be a generous hoarder. It's too bad Elvis isn't still with us…front table seating would be easier.

I prefer to think of myself as an ammunition archivist or conservator, all of which are abstract academic terms to help lessen the horror felt by my left leaning friends when they realize just what my comfort level of ammo on hand really is...

If you have to go shoot up some of your stash to make room for your latest haul, you might be an ammo hoarder.

I disagree. Hoarders never shoot at all. They buy and stack for whatever($$$) reason. I haven't bought ammo in 2 years. Prior to this nonsense, If I broke into a new case I'd order one or 2 to replace it. I have cut my shooting "expenditures" down to 1/3 number of rounds as compared to the past. Maximum 100 rds centerfire, 2-300 rds rimfire. At these rates I can go maybe 7-8 years without replenishment. Sad to need yet another "plan." Joe

You maybe an ammo hoarder if after you exceed the daily ammo purchase limit at your local Sportsman's Warehouse and you go outside to change your wardrobe/disguise so the clerk doesn't recognize you on subsequent passes through the checkout, or you find someone in the fishing department to make an ammo purchase for you.

Was at the local Flea market, Sig 9mm JHP $89.00 Blazer Aluminum 9mm 115gr $69.00/box

Guy had 4 packs of Glasers left, 1 in 45acp, 1 in 9mm, 2 in 45LC I think it was, he was asking $75 for 6 rounds, and said he's done nearly sold out.

When you find a yellow Super X box of rimfire 22 ammo marked. 69 cents and you bought it in 1971.

You might be a lifelong "horder".

I probably have some marked with that price or lower. But I did not buy them new. I do remember paying $.35 for Shorts, $.40 for Longs and $.45 for Long Rifles about a zillion years ago.

I have only fifty rounds of .22 and its worth more than my pick-up. If after counting your multiple thousands of rounds in all calibers, you are in line at four AM the next morning to be sure you get some of the small delivery at your local outdoor, gun shop etc. you are a hoarder. If you drove over 100 miles to beat the locals, you are a despicable hoarder. So There!!

It is called prepping and its not just a ammo thing. food, water etc.
I'm glad that I started to realize this years ago.

It's funny, I'm just as willing to spend $600 on 9mm as people are today, apparently. I just have a lot more rounds than they do.
