This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!

Good Morning,

It's a 51 cool degrees in the Heart of Dixie this beautiful Sunday morning. The cobalt blue sky is mixed with sunshine and puffy white, cotton ball clouds. Old Glory is gently flapping in the breeze, and reminding me that not only am I blessed beyond description by God, but I live in the greatest Nation on Earth, despite all it's warts and imperfections.

Sometimes, when I think of all the blessings He has showered upon me I get all choked up. This is one of those times, and I am so thankful for my family and friends, and those that I can relate to on forums like this one. I/we (the MBH and I) are not wealthy per society's standards, but we have each other, a house that don't leak, food on the table, a warm bed every night, two beautiful Daughters and their families. Our health is not the best, but when we depart this life we are prepared to spend eternity in Heaven. My lovely wife of 57 years, still loves me. She and God knows all my faults, (and where all the warts are), and there are many.

So, that's the reason I was singing, (joyful noise) this morning as I got dressed.

Have a blessed day, and count your blessings, and thank Him for them. If possible, share thanksgiving with someone that is alone this holiday, or can't share anything but a smile.

Happy Thanksgiving season and have a blessed Sabbath!!!

Leon

Thanks for the great post. My wife and I have been struggling with all the stresses that come from being educators in this day and age. I have been trying the "count yours blessings" and "glass is half full " approach lately to get us out of our negativity. We are on break now at our cabin in NC and are having coffee on my b-day. We are truly blessed. Thank you for your positivity...it is contagious. God bless

Good Sabbath Leon,

Quiet week here. Very foggy in the mornings.

I shot in our official 100 yard rimfire match yesterday. Came in last place and it was windy. I've got to get out and practice in the wind.

We are thankful for good health. We are looking forward to a big Thanksgiving dinner with some close friends.

Quigley and I watched the Rittenhouse trial between doing our yard work. It's a real good year for pine-straw.

Just some pics of our week...

But you are indeed wealthy, Leon! Thanks for posting. You put a smile on my face every Sunday morning.

:D

You certainly are. You have more than the overwhelming majority of people in the world.

Good afternoon everybody. I looked out the door to a beautiful day here in southcentral PA. I'm looking forward to celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday with my brother and then visiting our cousin and her husband.

Yesterday I went to a Celebration of Life for a nice lady who I knew from the VFW and Sam's Club. She was one of the first people I met outside of my extended family when I moved here. For years she was a bartender at the VFW, and since the family didn't know me, I told her daughter that if her Mom ever showed off any Golden Dollars I was the person who left them for her constantly as tips.

As time goes on, I have been more and more following my uncle's advice about making written lists for what to take on a particular trip or event. I'm amazed that on the list is my CPAP machine, blood pressure monitor and TEMS unit. I guess what is really amazing that during my lifetime these machines have become small enough for me to carry them.

I have my Lou Groza jersey out and I'm going to watch the Browns game. Everyone have a wonderful day.

I had my first cancer operation on my 38th birthday in 1991...and here I am, at age 68, alive and well, with no more than normal ailments for a man my age.

I survived a difficult and stressful career, where I incurred everything from a broken back to 3rd degree burns...and I've been retired for 17 years, and able to tell great "war stories" to family and friends.

My post-retirement career has me doing important national security work, safeguarding my country. I love what I do, my co-workers are like family, my boss is a prince, and I am paid well for what I do.

My two sons have grown up to be good men...kind and decent, and wonderful husbands and fathers. My younger son and his wife recently gave me my first grandson... :)

I awaken every morning, look up, and say "thank you"...

A beautiful and blessed Sunday to all. It was below freezing this morning, with frozen fog. So beautiful. Got the wood stove stoked up and waited for the house to warm up. Later I'll be trimming the evergreen trees for wreath makings for my friends and me. Fir, Pine, Spruce, and Cedar. Such a good smell. Joy!

After breakfast we had a short Bible study led by Logan. He focused on "loads we can bear".

On that topic, I ask a favor. If you folks remember, my eldest, Lindsey, was involved in a bad auto accident in May. She was immobilized for 5 months. She had been working hard to regain the use of her right foot and was cleared last month to go back to her job as an aide in an Assisted Living home.

I ask for prayer as she suffered a setback yesterday. A large resident drove over her bad foot with a motorized wheelchair thereby fracturing it. She is in a lot of pain and back in a walking cast.

We would appreciate it. Thanks.

Praying for Lindsey for complete healing. Please keep us updated, some of us can't remember what day it is, so a reminder about Lindsey will prompt us to pray for her.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

Praying for ya'll. It's a tough time to be on a public job, especially teachers, some parents want you to raise their children, some don't care (unfortunately) what you teach them. Take care and keep doing what is right. Happy Birthday!!!

God bless our Teachers!
