Random Object Photographs

My gf's cats seem intent on taking over critical areas of the house.

First they appropriated the anti-fatigue mat I gave her for her scanning table:

Then Izzie took the toilet hostage:

Now it seems their conquest of the bathroom is complete:

If they take over the espresso machine, she is doomed.

The entry to my shooting "Happy Place" today, the nearby free to use DNR range in Pickens County SC.
Acessed via a lovely 20 minute drive through rolling Blueridge Mountains foothills, the range had two state officers on duty, and only a single shooter on each of the three ranges (clays, rifle, and pistol).

There’s a lot of strange things in NM.
Like this house up in Galisteo, NM.
When I first saw it I thought it was some kind of Mausoleum.
It’s next to a cemetery.
I see a lady walking her dog and I ask her what is that?
She’s replies, it’s a house.
Designed by a World Famous architect who lives there.
Do those long boxes have any purpose? No!
Where do they live ?
In the South end, across the back end.
I get most things most of the time.
But I don’t get this!
Tie breaker for me - it’s ain’t a garage!

You knock on these doors and Gabriel may answer.
This is the Cemetery next door to the strange Galisteo house.
A little google-fu suggests that it's at 3 Tobias Ln., down the road from the Old Galisteo Cemetery and might be the local chapter of the American Institite of Architects. Can't find an owner's name, though. Zillow shows, "1 bd1 ba. 1,845 sqft. 3 Tobias Ln, Lamy, NM 87540"

This Crypto Currency advertising gimmick appeared for a single day yesterday in NYC's Central Park. It's a single 24kt solid gold casting weighing over 400 lbs and containing twelve million dollars worth of gold, cast in an ancient Swiss bell foundry.

I assume it had armed security? Otherwise it would have mysteriously vanished rather quickly. I mean there was a case here where a guy driving a forklift stole an ATM from a credit union. By the way, it was found dumped unopened in a vacant lot. I guess he couldn't figure out how to open it.

A really random object here, combined with some great luck.
A father in Britain who had given up his metal detector hobby when the children were born, was encouraged years later by his children to take up his hobby again.
He finds this shiny bauble in the first 15 minutes of searching with his newly acquired metal detector. It's the oldest type of gold English coin, and one of eight that are known to exist.
It just sold for the equivalent of $875,000.
