Random Object Photographs

A random sight certainly not seen every day, was the Pope visiting a friend's music store in Rome. Before becoming Pope, he was a frequent customer.

Trivia: What type of public transit vehicle is this trademarked, custom built 3-tone horn mounted on?

The tone sequence used, C sharp - E - A, is based on the overture to a Rossini opera....
Hmmm.... The William Tell overture has that sequence in it (but in G major) although not in the bit we all know. It begins about 1/2 way through at the "Ranz des Vaches"(Herdsman's melody). No idea about the vehicle, though :)

Swiss Post Bus

Bingo!!

That three-tone horn is a century old safety device that is immediately recognizable to drivers across the Alps.
It is a warning sounded by Swiss Post Bus drivers as they approach blind hairpin turns, where the bus requires all of the roadway to make the turn.

Harrumph! Once I figured out the William Tell Overture, something made me think, "Could there be a Swiss connection here?", given that William Tell was Swiss. Shoulda been like a (crossbow) bolt out of the blue but I didn't follow it up. Learn something every day (fortunately).

LOL. Yeah, you got the clue so fast, I felt fairly sure you'd connect the Swiss icon William Tell with the equally iconic Swiss Post Bus.

Went South of town this AM looking for Eagles.
Didn’t find any.
Heard a noise, looked up, it’s a Osprey!
Close enough!
PS: yes, the Rotors were turning.
I had a Fast Shutter Speed dialed in which ‘stopped’ them.

Didn't the Air Force replace all the -53s flying out of Kirtland AFB with Ospreys?
