Went to pour me my first cup of coffee this morning and..........

Grounds, all over the place!

The darn paper basket side caved in and the hopper was a floating mess of grounds and liquid that kept coming out of the unit, since the cut off spigget could not work correctly.

Wash cloth and paper towels, to the resque.

I know what is going to be waiting for me on my last cup of coffee!!

Cheers...........

A little cup shaped piece of plastic can solve that issue permanently...:)

I'd have settled for spilt coffee yesterday, when the olive oil container slipped from my hands and volcanoed on the kitchen floor. Argh.

I dropped a brand new full bottle of olive oil on the kitchen tiled floor once, at midnight. Was looking for a piece of Swiss chocolate before bedtime. Needless to say bedtime was somewhat postponed, took me a while to clean up that mess. And why in the world do Italians and Greeks sell their olive oil in glass bottles.

I do that a lot!
3 filters work better ;-)

I hate it when that happens. I also sometimes don't get the carafe centered correctly under the basket, so the little valve in the bottom isn't open. When the basket gets full of water while brewing, it has nowhere to go except everywhere else but the carafe: down the outsides and all over the counter, and off the edge onto the floor.

Heh heh... Dad had a similar event one time. He got up, filled the carafe with water, poured it in the coffee maker. Then he filled up the carafe (again) and set it in place. Then he flipped the switch and went to shave. It dutifully made coffee into the water filled carafe.

Woops. The ruckus woke up all of us.

Not always! I've had at least 4 defective (brand name) K-cups with no filter inside, grounds all over in my cup, really ticks me off in the morning.

Were they Starbucks K-cups? I hate Starbucks, they are evil...
I can't order Starbucks coffee, you need to have too many verbs and nouns to get your coffee started, and I don't know what temperature to ask for.............and their K-cups just too have too much up-itty built in....

Just sayin...

Don't remember which one, it was either Pete's, Gevalia or Caribou, that's all I get.

Coffee can make or break the day, IMO. Having just bought a Baratza Virtuoso grinder (set coarse for French press), I can be fairly sure the day will at least begin OK. Beyond that, all bets are off.

This is why many of us drink cheap coffee in the AM. If it goes wrong, we don't give rats and it doesn't foul up the whole morning.

Now, screw up my coffee after an expensive meal out and you best own a good bunker.
