I love S&w 45 colts
My favorite a pinned and recessed 5" 25-5

My 4" 45 colt/acp and 5" 45 colt both built on a 629-1 frames

A pinned and recessed 6" 45 colt built on a 5 screw pre 28 frame

A 3 1/2" 45acp/colt on a 1917 frame

a 4 1/4" built on a Brazilian frame

Pinned, but not recessed. Only magnums and rimfires are/were recessed.

But still gorgeous.

I would not pass one up...I have several and like the cartridge. Two 25-9s and a 625-7 Mountain Gun, all .45 Colt.

His are pinned and recessed...he bored a Model 29 cylinder for .45 Colt.

Look closely at the back of cylinder to recoil shield and you will see it actual is recessed as are 4 of my 45 colts. That is because I made their cylinders by reaming recessed model 29 cylinder to 45 colt.

I love the S&Ws in .45 Colt and have several of them including a 25-7. There is no doubt in my mind that the 25-7 is the finest .45 Colt revolver S&W ever made. Its the most accurate and the 5" barrel gives it perfect balance.

I had a 25-9, same as 25-7 but with the endurance package. It was more accurate than me. The chambers were .451/2.

Yes, I also like S&W’s in .45 Colt. Here’s a pic (repost) of my blued M25’s. All cylinders gauge properly.
Two -5’s (1 cut for moon clips) and-9.
