SPAM under lock and key in NYC stores...

Canned tuna is also being locked up due to an increase in shoplifting.

I'm guessing that canned dog food wont be far behind.

Here in San Antonio, there has been a canned dog food shortage for over a year, other than for the high-priced stuff. And the price, if you can find any, has increased by well over half. I wouldn't be surprised if there was considerable dog food shoplifting going on.

I did complain at Walmart when I saw Shaving Cream locked up.
The lady told that it has become a Hot grab item.
Really!
Last time I was there, Spam still stacked out in the open.

Locking items up is the future and only way to remain in business. If it isn't tied down or behind a barrier, it will get stolen. We've had two stop and rob stores shut down this year because of the constant thefts, and those items are where small stores get their profit.

Is NYC fearing a Viking invasion?

Not a fan, but I can see the wisdom of keeping some out in the garage just in case. If really hungry, anything edible is welcome.

Read somewhere that with natural disasters and all, it is wise to try to keep two weeks of food on hand. Have not done that, but think I should.

Like insurance. Better to have it and not need it than the alternative.

Around here, the price of SPAM has more than doubled. But inflation is only transitory. If you buy that, I've got a mighty fine bridge available at a bargain price.
