Cereal and milk

Does anyone think today's cereal is more bland than it used to be? Maybe it's just my taste buds. Of course I'm trying to use less sugar than I used to. Sometimes just go with fruit and a muffin. Eggs once or twice a week.

I have to say I've never had cereal with chocolate milk. I'll have to put that on my bucket list.

I'm not a big fan of oatmeal but some nuts and a shot of that Jack Daniels Honey helps a lot.

When younger and sweating alot, had scrapple, eggs, home fries and toast at least 3 times a week.

Normal breakfast now a days is either oatmeal, or 2 hardboiled eggs and banana, or home fries with onions. Old fashioned oatmeal with cinnamon, diced apple, raisins, blueberries then microwaved 5 minutes. Slice some banana and add some milk.

edited cause i forgot the raisins

I eat a mixture of approx. one third Honey Nut Cheerios and two thirds Crunchy Honey Nut Oats topped with sinful H&H. I use the store brand
cereal, just as good and a lot cheaper.

Our father told us scrapple was made from sawdust - that way he didn't have to share

Sounds like something I used to do.

I learned to eat cereal in a smaller bowl, less milk, eat tge first bowl, then add fresh cereal. This way it is always crunchy. The best part the milk at the end is super concentrated with sugar.

Decades ago due to my dad’s changing health we went to skim milk. Regardless it was always cereal during the week. Weekends allowed mom to strut her stuff in the kitchen a little more lol.

These days for me it’s Special K, either with berries or the fruit and yogurt variety, and Fair Life skim.

On weekends, as I post this as a matter of fact, I treat myself at an amazing pancake restaurant in my neighborhood. Everything in moderation. :D

I never stopped having cereal with milk for breakfast. The larder isn't properly stocked without multiple types of cereal to give variation during the week. Never did chocolate milk or orange juice on my cereal.

As for the "don't have time for breakfast, straight out of the house" folks, I did it once back in England. By 0930 most of my coworkers were either cowering under their desks or had gone to other buildings to get away from me. After lunch a delegation told me, "We don't care how late you get to work, just make damned sure you've had breakfast before you come through the gate." Hangry didn't cover my mood, apparently.

Big cereal fan here, often eat it for lunch, especially when it's hot out. Kashi cinnamon shredded wheat or Cinnamon Life are my top picks.
