I need a couple holsters for CCW qualificaiton. Around here, you have to pass a range test conducted by sherriff's deputies, and they are sort of sticklers on some things. I need to do a course of fire from holster with each gun I want on my permit. OWB is fine and is what I am looking for for this. Deputies will inspect holsters. Only criteria given are:

A holster designed for each firearm you plan on having on your permit. The holster must be
serviceable condition. No Blackhawk Serpa holsters or cross draw holsters will be allowed.

I am told they interpet "designed for each firearm" to mean entire trigger guard must be covered. They will be very suspicious of anything in nylon or similar fabric and anything that looks like it is trying to a "unviversal fit."

I am looking for recommendatiosn for CHEAP Kydex OWB holsters for a CS9 and for a S&W 40c. Preferably available on Amazon. I might use these for training and classes in the future but do not plan to carry with them.

Please, don't tell me I should get a custom made horsehide holster like the one you have been carrying for 40 years. That is another conversation for another day. For now, I am looking for cheap, fast delivery, and easy draw and reholstering. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks in advance!

The "cheap" kydex holsters I've seen lately cost as much as leather.... and some are even more. Just saw one for $100. For..... Kydex?!?!?!?
There are far too many plastic benders out there to say one is cheaper or faster to ship than another. I suggest going to your local gun shop and just get whatever they have that fits. Police supply stores tend to have large inventories of holsters, too. If you don't have any nearby, there's Galls, CopQuest, or Optics Planet on-line. All seem to be OK price-wise, at least as good as any. Good luck.

I htink I am set for my CCW qualification. Found one from what i had that will work for the CS9, and bought one on Amazon for $26 for the S&W 40c. I actually think AMazon is more convenient than going to a store. First one didn't fit, return was super easy, second try fits like a champ.

Can you use LH?

Jeppo, funny you should ask. I am not left handed or ambidextrous. But I am cross eye dominant. Left eye dominates, but I am right handed. Was training with an instructer last weekend and he made me shoot left handed just to see. D***, first try I shot better than with my right hand. Definitely going to be giving left handed shooting a try out.

Just curious, what did you have that fit the CS9?

It was for a Sig 250. Grips it perfect and covers the whole trigger guard, although a bit longer than needed for the CS9. Here's my girl wearing it, sporting your curved TercGen grips and a stainless slide I put on her.

If you ever want to carry the CS9 OWB in leather, the Don Hume H721-OT No. 40-3 also fits. It is designed for the S&W 908, but works for the CS9 without being too long. Comes in tan or black.
The rear of the trigger guard does stick out about 3/8 of an inch, if that much.

Thanks, Wyo-man. Probably rather have IWB in leather. Any suggestions?

I have one of these for my CS45 if you can find one. Bianchi 3S Pistol Pocket ISWB, Right Hand
