Well it happened, after 25 years and lots of hours of operation my old Echo blower died on me. Checked around and it appears that its a bit dated and not all parts are available. Time to get a new one.
Back pack leaf blowers are a popular topic on here and a couple car forums I also haunt, so plenty of info out there
Went to the big box and of course bought another Echo 2 stroke. ( 58,2 CCs, PB580h/t) Got to say the instruction were a bit hard to work with, printing was very small and in a multitude of languages. It did say you could go to a website for more help. Its not rocket science and I just winged it. Had it running in about 10 minutes.
Took it out to my large back yard and let her work. WOW it has serious torque could easily feel it on my back when I went from idol to WOT. Its at least 50% more powerful than its predecessor which did a decent job!. Quite possible to blow leaves 20'. I have a lot of big maple and oak on my property and they drop leaves in depth. Not a problem this blower made light work out of them.
What I done yesterday in a hour would have easily been 2-2 1/2 hours with my now departed old Echo. I noted it is a two stroke and it uses the same mix ratio as other tools and toys I now own. It does have a bigger fuel tank but as a car gut I know you pay for performance. FWIW its also a bit quieter than the one it replaced, wearing ears is still a must!
As of now I'm a very happy camper.
Its warranty is 2 years if commercial used and 5 years for private use, based on my other Echo this bad boy will outlive me easy.
