1965 3" Model 19-2

Congratulations on picking up this 19-2 3 inch! You made your mind up and did not hesitate when bidding on it. They don't show up often for sure. I do have one question. You mentioned that it was a knife fight which you won. Did you make it out without injury or do you have some cuts/lacerations that are still healing?

Take Care

Well no one walks away from a knife fight unscathed usually but my wounds are fairly superficial.;)

Congrats and Welcome to the ranks of 3" M19-2 owners... :) :)

That's a nice one... I"m down to one, and if I'd of known how much these would escalate in value over the years I'd of kept all three... :D

Whoa! That's amazing!

A .357 Combat Magnum nearly identical to yours, but shipped in 1966.

I notice that both yours and southnarc's guns have a standard ampersand between Smith-Wesson on the left side of the barrel. Southnarc's revolver at least, has the lazy ampersand both in the 4-line registration and between S-W on the right side of the barrel. I would have expected all the ampersands to be the lazy one on guns of this pre-1970 era, and especially odd that it has the lazy one on one side of the barrel and a standard one on the opposite side.

Care to comment?

I'll save everyone the trouble. Anything is possible with Smith and Wesson, and never say never.

I sure like the looks and apparent balance of the 3" K. With my vision, the fixed sight platforms are less useful. With the reality of $$$$, the adjustable sight versions border on delusion.

Hey guys new to your community but not new to online forums.

I thought I'd open up here with a recent acquisition via a pretty good Gunbroker knife fight. I have a pretty serious fetish for 3" K frame and I swore if I ever saw another 3" 19 it would be mine. Very happy with this one as it doesn't even have a turn line.

Enjoy!

Congrats and welcome to the posting side of the forum. That really is a beauty! Thank you so much for sharing all of the photos!!!:D:)

I too love the 3" Combat Magnums. I believe this is one of the earliest 3"ers...

It did get a little scratched up by a certain Alvin White...

O/P, great first post, thank you.

Do you know if your 3" M-19 was in the group that was ordered and shipped to the California Division of Narcotics? My Godfather was issued one of these, Many years ago. I have no idea where it ended up..

Please enjoy having a very real Smith and Wesson treasure .

Congratulations on your acquisition. She's definitely a rare beauty.

Funny thing is folks wouldn't think twice about dropping that kind of coin for a 2.5" Python and they're MUCH more plentiful.

OP great first post, BUT nobody likes a show off. You've set the bar way to high! The big question is will you shoot it or relegate it to safe Queen status? Congrats on a great find.

Wow!!!! I couldn't resist. I searched GB. You really wanted that gun. Guess that answers my question about shooting it.
