Any espresso drinkers out there?

After 20+ years of drinking espresso in the morning I switched back to brewed coffee. I bought a good one cup brewer and by and large I like it, so I retired my semi-automatic espresso machine.
Recently I really wanted some espresso and remembered that I had a Nespresso pod machine in the basement that I got for $25 on Marketplace.
I got some Peet's pods and gave them a try. They make an "espresso like" beverage. The machine brews too cool and the pods only use about 1/2 the coffee a real espresso shot would, but they satisfied my craving.
Does anyone else use Nespresso style pods - the ones that make about 1.5 oz coffee? If so can you recommend a pod that you like? I'm tempted by some of the cheap ones on Amazon, but might try a genuine Nestle pod to see if it's any closer to espresso. FWIW: I don't care about flavors or "crema".

We brew a pot of fresh ground every morning. On occasion using the wife’s Keurig, WalMart’s “Donut shop” is about my favorite. I wouldn’t give Peet’s a dime of my money, not for taste reasons. Joe

Some years back my grandson in-law, from Milan, introduced me too espresso.
I bought the Nesspresso pod machine and a froth gizmo.
I have 2 + a cuppa each morning.
I get my pods from Nespresso at .75 ea.
Palermo Kazar, Ristretto, and some Cossi for the girls' cappuccino.

We have used our Nespresso machine and frother for many years and have been pleased.....we use the original style machine/pods.....and always order the strongest pod that is offered.

I typically run two pods per cup.

Our daughter has the same machine and has tried the pods sold at Trader Joes, but did not like them at all.....so she sticks with the original.

Yes. I have a Breville with a built in grinder. In about 99 seconds I can go from beans to a double shot.

I've been a coffee drinker for as long as I can remember over the age of around ten. I've drank bad coffee when it's all there was, I worked for a Harbormaster that insisted on putting eggshells in "His" coffee and only changing out the basket once a week, adding new grounds each day...STRONG. I like good espresso, straight or in place of a cup of coffee I like a double shot with an equal amount of hot water "Americano" style. I like French Press coffee but find the clean-up not worth the effort that a good old drip blend can produce with the right grind of fresh beans. I've been to friend's houses where they have the little Keurig machines, they make a tolerable cup of coffee, I see the benefit if you only drink one cup of coffee.

I have a nespresso machine. Had it for 3 years. I have tried many pods other than nespresso but never found any that worked consistently. I settled on sticking with nesspresso.
This past Christmas I got a gaggia machine. I like it so far. The Machine is more expensive but I will save in the long run ny not buying pods.

I had a super auto and replaced it with a semi auto espresso only machine because the espresso was better. Neither my wife nor I make lattes, caps, flatwhites etc.

I'm going the opposite direction. I've had a QM Alexia for the past 15 yrs. and have finally gotten tired of the bother of weighing, grinding, tamping, shot timing, etc. I'm keeping my Eureka Specialita grinder though. I agree with you about the pod cost but I think I had more than $2k in "espresso" hardware.

LOL. Yeah, that's a job, especially when we had guests. Convinced us to get the super-auto. Convenient enough that it goes back in the box and travels with us by auto, domestically. Has a good reputation with our hosts. [emoji3]
