Wednesday evening, I received a phone call from my LGS stating they had something that I would be interested in. I was driving home from work, so I detoured to their store. Upon entering the store, I was pleasantly surprised to see my first ever registered magnum. I have been collecting Smith and Wesson revolvers since the fall of 2011. That was a time in my life where I started to have enough disposable income, to pursue the admiration and passion for S&W revolvers. Feeling like I may never ever see another, in my lifetime, I made the purchase.

According to the store owner, the consignor of this firearm is the grandson of a police officer who served on the Butte, Montana PD. He received the gun from his father, when he passed. His dad served as a Montana State Trooper. Whether or not his dad used the RM on his watch, I cannot determine. The gun store owner was not willing to share my phone number with the grandson for further information. With that said this RM is one of the 19, 5" guns shipped to the city of Butte in 1937. The gun store owner did obtain a letter and he is passing it on to me. I will provide photos of both the revolver and letter upon completion of the background check proceedings. Thanks again, Dino
