Tell your Reps "Hell No!"

TAKE ACTION on the Washington "assault weapon" ban!

I was on a quick 8 hour road trip yesterday, and I was thinking. There was no ban on magazine capacity in the 1800s. Gatling guns had massive stick magazines holding far more than 10 rounds. There is your historical context. Granted they were prohibatively expensive, but if you could afford to buy one, you could protect your homestead with one.

Your link is to a WA state situation: you should perhaps either insert a more appropriate link or remove the "federal" claim from your thread title. Don't want to deal anyone out inappropriately. :)

My mistake, I thought it was to the Federal ban that they are working on. I'll make the correction.

Oh yea, I've lived, commuted, and worked from that area for many years (Dupont/Steilacoom) before retiring and moving out here.

This place is great and much more like that area used to be before...yeech!

The problem as I see it, is with the (censored) that makes the firearms laws for the entire state.

Oh, and the (censored)'s that moved out here from wherever
and voted them onto office in the first place.

...and they keep voting for them time and time again.

I suppose it could be worse, I mean we could have an administration in DC that leaves billions in military hardware in some terrorist county, releases some international "merchant of death" arms dealer back into the world, and then works overtime trying to ban America's favorite sporting rifle.

...naw, that's just too far fetched. :)

ETA: Oops! I guess this liar did get started. :o

I think that maybe the best medicine for me to work out my anger and frustrations at this point, would be for me to take my "America's favorite sporting rifle" (equipped with my hand polished CMMG .22LR conversion unit) and head out into the sticks around here to zap some tin cans...

...therapy. :D

It is a whole different state outside the Tacoma to Everett I-5 corridor.

It sure is. Nonetheless I'd leave in a New York Minute if my Wife didn't want to stay in NCW... not leaving her, no matter what.

I have reached out to SAF to inquire about litigation. I find it amazing that this crud gets serious attention after Bruen. A huge problem is that the Attorney General is planning to be Governor, and pushes all sorts of bad ideas as a result. Any lawyer who does not know that Bruen will result in this law failing is an idiot, and any lawyer who goes forward if they do know is engaged in serious misconduct. Ferguson has no experience at all (or any credentials at all) in criminal justice matters, and should not be AG. There is a good argument he should not have a law license, but I have no faith in the WSBA to address his well-documented ethics and competency problems.

I have friends (elected prosecutors) who would be great, but they are not crazy enough to take on that office and its dysfunctional culture.

She sounds like somebody special...

I wouldn't leave her either...what is NCW?

...um, last I heard, New York gun laws suck...you don't want to be showing up in that place anytime soon.

...she disarms her citizens......sounds like she doesn't trust us anymore... :(

Unfortunately few lawyers actually get punished for filing law suits with little to no merit. Lots of them go from being attorneys to representatives and every single attorney general is one. None of those receive any kind of repercussions for passing or enforcing bad laws that will not stand up to serious legal scrutiny. Even judges that make decisions that get overturned by higher courts suffer no actual repercussions. They know that they can play political games with thee legal system all they want. It isn't about the constitutional legality or what is good for the people. It is all about the political donations and votes gained for them and their respective party

Now our government is being run just like a reality TV show and the elected officials all act like they are on one.

I joined the 2A foundation today, and am calling my legislators tomorrow. I'd recommend everyone here join the foundation, Alan Gottlieb and his team are fighting the good fight.

The legislators voted themselves, judges and other public officials immunity from prosecution for violating our civil rights. Total BS.

Does that protect them from federal prosecution too?

as far as I know, yes. So if Congress were to attempt to abolish the Second Ammendment, they can't be brought up on charges. I could be horribly wrong though.

So, were someone wrongly convicted, and later proven innocent, the judge isn't in trouble for their part in depriving the incarcerated of their liberty and freedom, or if they deny bail.

Congress has repeatedly passed laws that infringed on the second Amendment. Some of those laws have not stood up to Supreme Court rulings. They have suffered not one iota from their actions. The ATF has repeatedly had their rules turned over. No one there has had so much as a reprimand letter placed in their file.

All I know is you see local state and federal governments pass and enforce law that end up getting ruled unconstitutional. Even lower court judges regularly uphold them or worse make rulings that have no solid bases in law. If they are at some point overt turned or judged unconstitutional they were unlawful, yet, none of them ever suffer the slightest bit for these unlawful actions.

But, then if the police arrest you for something you are innocent of, then the prosecutor and courts find you guilty and you set in hail for years before proven not guilty, the police and prosecutor and judge suffer not a wit and they will not even say we are sorry. Even when it is shown that the police and or prosecutor with held evidence of innocence from the courts they never ever go to jail for what the did to an innocent man.

You have notice that when shop lifters figure out they will not be prosecuted for stealing, many of the go whole hog at it. What makes you think that politicians will do better and take the high road. LOL When there is little to no repercussions for their actions why wouldn't they do as they please to get donors and votes??

Alright that's it!

I am officially announcing my candidacy for Dictator!

When elected, (not if) I shall dictate that all those currently in office abide by the Constitution of the United States...period.

Too many have served and too many have even perished, after having raised their right hand and sworn to defend our Constitution, only for some clowns to show up and totally ignore it for financial gain etc.

Here are my orders:

#1. If you have been convicted of blatantly and repeatedly
ignoring the rulings of the SCOTUS while you are in office...YOU'RE FIRED!

#2. All earnings obtained from special interest jerks funding your elected position shall now be seized. (Trudeau did it and so shall I)

#3. Any state charging a citizen with a felony that isn't even against federal law to begin with, shall automatically be considered ridiculous and totally overruled.

I shall create further laws after elected, but in the meantime you can PM me with your generous donations...hey somebody's gotta fund my campaign. :)

I have spoken.

ETA: I do a lot of "Edit To Add" in my posts don't I. :o

OK here's my story:

When I first got out of the Service in '87, a friend GAVE me a Colt M16A1 upper, complete with a hard chromed bolt carrier assembly, probably obtained during the Vietnam era.

Well, I wasn't into AR's at the time, I had a Remington 700 BDL in .30-06 and didn't think an AR could be made as accurate...yea I was wrong.

So I sold the upper at a gun show for $20. :o

I've been kicking myself for that brilliant move ever since.

William Kirk over at Washington Gun Law suggested I pick up a few spare parts because of the questionable wording of this proposed garbage legislation in Olympia.

So I went ahead and purchased an Aero Precision nickel boron bolt carrier assembly.

This thing looks shiny silver sweet and I'm looking forward to taking it into the woods around here this Wednesday with a long time shooting friend for a test trial and a whole lot of plinking fun!

I feel better now anyway. :)
