I am trying to find out more about this 1911i got. I ha e not been able to find anything on it except where one sold back in 2015.
What I do know is that it's a 1911 engravers special and from Lew Horton. But other than that nothing. So any help with what it is exactly and a approximate value would be awesome. Thanks for any help.
Here are a few pics of it. Also it's brand new never been fired. Also was signed by a s&w shooter back in 2005

That's who I thought the name was but was trying to get a second opinion. Was going to be putting it up on GunBroker so wanted to make sure.
Thanks for the help.

Is there a reason not to list the gun here? Or any gun?
His having four posts here is a fine reason that this may not be his best venue for sale. My guess is that he has other haunts where he is more active and has a more established history.

I actually wouldn't be opposed to selling on here but like mentioned above I am not on this forum much but could easily give tons of references. I have done close to 100 deals on tacswap with all perfect rep, sells on gunbroker, eBay, and multiple other forums with excellent feedback. The reason doing gun broker was having a reserve price but letting bidders go after it to see what it could bring. I do have a minimum price in mind but still waiting.on s&w to get back with me on what they could find out about it a little more.

So the historical foundation has gotten back with me and said that they are looking into it They only info that they could give me as of right now that it was manufactured in 2004 and that it was a limited run and discontinued I am trying to get more information on it like specs or anything like that possible I can find. There is only three people that work in the historical part and they are from my understanding are severely understaffed

I'll bet you've found the same info I have. I think the $2,100 asking that you were suggested is a bit high. Who knows though?

The most recent one I saw sold at RIA 22 Apr 2020. Collector Firearms doesn't list date for the one they sold. They are notoriously high in their prices so the sold price surprises me.

You could also contact Susan Lorusso < [email protected]
for a LH Special Edition Certificate. She has the archives now and the last I heard it was $60.00 per.

Thanks for the info. I'm not seeing where it sold though? I see the estimate and a price realized? And the other is not showing price just sold. It's cool you found that though cause I have been searching and searching everywhere. I will reach out to her. Thank you!! Also think the signature should bring the value up a little as well since it seems he didn't sign a whole lot of stuff. But I do appreciate what you found.

The one offered at RIA had a realized, (sold,) price of $1,150. The one at Collector Firearms sold for $929.95. They just list the firearms and the cost with no negotiations.

I agree that the signature should be worth something especially since the note with it is not to a specific individual. How much is an unknown. Would that raise the value significantly? I've seen some Jinks personally owned and documented firearms sell for much less than I would have expected. My factory letters were signed by him so he signed "a few" things but I get what you are saying.

Gotcha. Again thanks for the info Yeah I don't know if I'd let it go for that much lol I also spoke with the lady you are talking about and she did inform me that Baron technologies is who did the engraving on it and I have now reached out to them to see if I could get any information as well
