Random Object Photographs

Just the other day ran into this in my Home Office.
He’s gone now, but it was a super trivia question.
Bhumibol Adulyadej (5 December 1927 – 13 October 2016), conferred with the title King Bhumibol the Great (officially conferred by King Vajiralongkorn in 2019),[2][3][4][5] was the ninth King of Thailand.
The Question was - where was the King of Thailand born?
Some Thais didn’t believe it when you told them -
Cambridge, Mass.

We're not even completely moved into the new house yet, but I got to use my lift to replace the alternator on one of our Miatas. So happy that my years of working on a creeper are over! :D

My parents used to run a antique glass business starting back in the '70s. In the beginning they had a shop in a couple of the antique centers. As the internet came about and Ebay started to get big they moved their inventory into a small warehouse near where they lived and ran the business online. Eventually the warehouse became too expensive so they moved everything into multiple storage units and continued online. Then Dad passed away and Mom pretty much quit doing anything and turned to becoming a Master Naturalist and Master Gardner. The storage units were eating up too much income so I helped her find a auction company to try and get rid of the old inventory, especially the stuff that was not selling online. It did not bring in much but we were able to go from 3 to 1 storage unit. The garage was also full of metal shelving and the auctions cleared a lot of that out so I moved everything from the last unit into the garage. It has been in there for almost 10 years.

Now this year Mom's dementia has really kicked in but I can keep her occupied and happy by bringing in stuff from the garage for her to clean and "inventory". She is not able to really inventory it but that is not the main point. I bring in a couple boxes of glass at I time and i tell her as soon as it is clean and "written up" I will put it back out there and bring in a couple more. Most of it will end up at Goodwill or the resale shop, and this way it will be clean before it goes and I have a change to go through it and pick out a few items that I like to keep. Art deco glassware has always been attractive to me. There has also been several small stashes of what are most likely costume jewelry, although there is one nugget necklace that has the look and weight of gold and a string of what may be pearls that are not in the best of shape after so many decades in the garage. All the jewelry will make a trip to a local place to be evaluated.

In addition to the glass we also have several large boxes of things that came from my grandparents when they passed away. Mom also had a habit of letting paperwork and such build up on the kitchen table until my sister would come visiting. Then Mom would shovel it all into a box and take it out to place on a shelf in the garage. I have found a couple shoeboxes worth of old pictures ranging from the late 1800's up to the beginnings of the digital camera age.

It really amazes me just what all has been hoarded and stored out in the garage that has not seen the light of day in decades. I have been pulling some out and will add some pics here.
