Random Object Photographs

Visited the National Museum of World War II Aviation in Colorado Springs a week ago and saw these planes. All are flyable (note drip pans). The SBD Dauntless had flown earlier in the day and I took the pic as the ground crew was finishing the post-flight washdown.

So there I was up at Arches National Park.
There were a bunch of Foreigners there and I found myself talking to some Germans.
They told me the Moon would rise before dark and could be seen in the Hole in the Rock.
Really! I checked my Garmin GPS, Garmin say Ching Ching Ding-Aling.
So I was back in position at the right time and here's my Pic.
The Sun is low but not set and illuminating those beautiful Red Rocks.
And here comes the Moon!
Yes, this is a real picture. It’s not photoshopped!

Got the wife out of the house today and went to Red Rock Canyon. She's not as agile as she used to be, so we stayed on the easy trail going to the quarry. We didn't go into the quarry because you have to climb a set of rock stairs that are beyond what she can safely do these days. Beautiful day - ~60 degrees, sunshine, very few people, and a slight breeze.

Looking through some old pics....

I ran across these. Long long ago, in a place that is far far away...I went to an out door gun range with a friend. He introduced me to the awesomeness of the .45/70. As I soon discovered the awesomeness is even more awesome when fired from a 10" Thompson Contender

1. The .45 acp next to the .45/70 (See what I was up against?)
2. Taking deadly aim.
3. I don't care who you are, how big you are, or how much experience with guns you have, EVERY time you shoot one of these you WILL take a couple of steps back.

The first time he let me shoot it, that's on him. I didn't know any better. The second time, well, I guess that one's on me.
