Not an S&W, but how about some pics of a gun that has been shot so much you can see metal erosion on the breech face. This is an early gen Kimber 1911 than I bought brand new in the 90s and used as a USPSA gun. Was shot heavily. Also used as a duty gun. Used when I worked executive protection details for a governor. Taught with it, etc.
It actually used to have a nice blued finish.
I stopped keeping track of the round count at around 70K
No bluing left at all in some areas and worn totally smooth.
