Playing around with my drone again. These were about 15 miles from my house. I have beach access 7 miles from me, but wanted to try a different location.

I had some lame music in the first one, but I think I got rid of it. Sorry if it still plays!

The second was taken from Marineland. The beach you see just north was my favorite surfing spot. Years ago someone lost power on their yacht. Of all the places for it to happen it happened at the rocks that protect Marineland. Several movies were filmed there, or at least parts of them were.

Marine Circus" (1939)
The Sea Around Us" (1953)
Creature from the Black Lagoon" (1954)
Revenge of the Creature" (1955)
Secrets of the Reef" (1956)

The once Laid Back. I almost lost my camera getting these pics.

Nice, I'm impressed that the drone held position against the wind, there.

I was at Jax Beach yesterday evening, getting beaten up by the two foot surf. Funny how powerful such small waves can be, or I'm just getting soft in my old age.

That drone footage is impressive, Wood.

I like watching drone footage on YouTube. I think the ones where the pilot is wearing a realtime POV headset zipping — swooping, soaring, hurtling at high speed — through abandoned buildings and such are very engaging.

It impresses me too. It's a tiny drone, and does get blown around some. The gyro does a great job at keeping the video smooth.

I was getting high wind warnings during the one at Marineland.

Those people have crazy skills that I doubt I'll ever archive. There's a guy on a FaceBook drone group that does a lot of insane flying. He posted one where he flew the same drone I have under a Honda Civic.

Fun (useless) factoid - my dad's first design project when we moved to Jax was the Marineland hotel, circa 1972. It, along with much of Marineland, has been demolished. I remember when Marineland was a big deal.

My grand daughter "on the left" wanted to do the swim with the dolphins there. I took these 10 years ago...it was still most good back then!
