ANOTHER ASSASINATION TRY ON TRUMP

I can't believe the guy hid there for 12 hours and the mosquitoes and fire ants didn't eat him alive. I can't even walk through my backyard without getting attacked by them.

Beat me to it. It's hard to take out the trash in bare feet without one of them biting ******** locking on a toe. Joe

NO SHOTS should have been fired by the agent. He had no reason to shoot. He should have gotten on the radio and said, "We've got a hot one," giving location and then perp gets surrounded and captured.

Cirrusly, "he" sees a rifle barrel so he starts shooting ?!?! It's clownish.
Weren't folks having a fit a month or two ago because all sorts of LEO's saw a man with a gun and did nothing allowing him to shoot at 45?

Could this situation be due to that?

SS used to be part of the Treasury dept.
By chance the agent saw the weapon's barrel what was/ is the procedure of alarm and response? Seems he just started " blasting away" in the " general direction. Highway/ street behind? Unknown background?
Seems the old rule regarding ID'ing ones target has gone out the window along with other old standards.
One rule for going to gun fight…" Bring pistol that starts with 4 and a rifle that starts with 3.

I'm long Retired and out of the loop, but when I was working, We had in place "an Extra Duty Office " Where Officers on days off could sign up for Assignments….Fully equipped including Radio….and City Vehicle if necessary…

Why wasn't there at least Two Units assigned to this Event??? Twelve Hours lying in the bushes and not even the Zone Car noticed The Subject or his Vehicle??

This is a remote area with No Commercial Enterprises and a Rental Car parked nearby should have been " ding ding ding, what's up with this?"

As far as SS, they didn't have Drones @ Butler or interagency cooperation, but there was/ is NO excuse for not having Drones Up over the Golf Course when the Protectee is there….

The Agent that shot toward the Rifle ended the threat and caused the Subject to flee, when He was observed by a civilian in the area who called it in and the Subject was apprehended on I-95…

In the Butler shooting that occurred back in July, I wrote it happened due to incompetence, …Incompetence this time also….No Observation Drones up and no Units assigned to the Perimeter.

"Rowe said his agents were using several methods of scouring the golf course for threats, including aerial devices and a layered approach to pushing agents out in front of the former president."

The news media doesn't know the difference between an AK, SKS or anything else. - not even the so-called experts.

If the numb-nuts shooter knew anything about AKs or SKSs, he'd know that, 7.62x39 has a rainbow trajectory and not particularly accurate. If it were a 54R, then that's be different.

BTW how did numb-nuts know Pres Trump would be golfing?

Fmr. President Trump plays a LOT of golf, so expecting him at his own golf club nearest to his current residence doesn't take a PHD to figure out. And with all the security and closed roads, everyone knows when he is in town. Reporting also has it the wanna-be shooter was at his location for up to 12 hours prior.

Apparently the guy never got off a shot; the Secret Service discovered, identified and engaged, and drove off the threat before Trump ever got in danger. To that I say EXCELLENT JOB! However, at 500 yards with an SKS, Trump was probably in more danger from being hit by his own golf ball as it ricocheted off his golf cart...:D

Governors can say anything - doesn't mean they are correct.

From the Florida Constitution, Article IV, Section 1:

SECTION 1. Governor.
(a) The supreme executive power shall be vested in a governor, who shall be commander-in-chief of all military forces of the state not in active service of the United States. The governor shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed, commission all officers of the state and counties, and transact all necessary business with the officers of government. The governor may require information in writing from all executive or administrative state, county or municipal officers upon any subject relating to the duties of their respective offices. The governor shall be the chief administrative officer of the state responsible for the planning and budgeting for the state.
(b) The governor may initiate judicial proceedings in the name of the state against any executive or administrative state, county or municipal officer to enforce compliance with any duty or restrain any unauthorized act.

Don't see anything about investigating crime.

And in support I'd like to add this little nugget about Article VI, Clause 2 of the US Constitution, a.k.a. - the "Supremacy Clause":

"This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof ... shall be the supreme Law of the Land."

Translation: If a state law conflicts with a federal law, the federal law takes precedence. The federal charges prevail.

You want to risk the other guy getting the first shot with a long gun?:confused::confused:

Indeed. Even the New Mexico state oath requires state officials to defend the US Constitution. I've sworn to defend it in 1979, 1980, 1997, 2017, 2022, and in June. Against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

First, you and I weren't there. But the rifle was apparently perceived as an immediate threat. Or should the agent waited to see if he would be fired upon? Pointing a rifle at a federal agent is a felony and deadly force is allowed. Other rules may apply among local police departments but this is federal.

The arraignment contains no such charges.

The arraignment was for two felon in possession charges. They were the fastest and easiest charges to file and are "place holders" to ensure that he wouldn't be released on bail.

The FBI has said that they are not done yet and more charges will be filed as the investigation proceeds.

The arraignment contains no such charges.

I find it amazing the accused laid around on a golf course in Florida for twelve hours and didn't get attacked by an alligator.

Actually, I can't argue against that point except to say I doubt that any alligator could have afforded the membership and greens fees at that particular course! :D
