The OE rifle lists the Muzzle Device as a Flash Hider.
Has any member here removed the Flash Hider and installed a Muzzle Brake?

If you did what brand did you use?

Did you notice any accuracy improvements with a Muzzle Brake?

Was the Flash Hider difficult to remove?

Help me out here. Why a muzzle brake on a .22?

Lots of discussion out there on use of muzzle brake vs Flash Hider. ;)

I see better than 50% comments on positive effects on 22lr accuracy vs flash hider. (Tandemkross website).

I wrapped my barrel with 6 rounds of clear duct tape and placed barrel in small vice. Used a crescent wrench on the flash hider and it came off with less than #20 torque.:D

Ordered a muzzle brake today on EBAY.:)

please explain to me how a muzzle brake increases accuracy.

Well, if it reduces muzzle rise, the barrel may have more time on target as the bullet exits the muzzle. Can make the shooter more accurate and faster to get back on target.

I can buy the getting back on target faster, can't buy "Can make the shooter make accurate". Not needed on a 22 and accuracy with a rifle is all about barrel harmonics in relation to when the bullet leaves the barrel.

I put a Krinkov Device on mine that I had laying around.
{ just for laughs}
Actually does divert noise; shoots the same.
Some of the crack goes away.
Wouldn't spend more money on one though.
My Grandfather's [mine now] winchester 67 lr single shot
with it's super long barrel will astound people for degree of quiet from factory!!! Do what you like this is supposed to be a fun sport!!!

Muzzle brake positively affects the harmonics of the barrel.

Positively as in it does effect harmonics, or it effects harmonics in a positive way?

If simply putting a break on the end of a barrel makes a gun shoot better why don't custom rifle builders put them on every bench rest rifle they make.

Benchrest shooters use adjustable tuners to find the “node” that produces the best accuracy. Anything you hang on the end of a barrel will effect the accuracy to some degree + or -. Noticeable on a 15-22? Probably not. It’s not a benchrest rifle.
As far as the statement that a muzzle break helps accuracy by holding muzzle down? A break doesn’t do anything till the bullet has exited the barrel. It may help get back on target quicker on larger calibers, not 22 LR, IMO.
