I recently picked up a 15-2 on GB as an addition to my combat family. Now…15, 18 and 19.
The seller calls me today and says he is about to ship and just noticed the serial number on the box does not match the gun. It’s close, but the last three numbers are different. It’s from an estate so he can’t ask the previous owner and there’s only one 15-2 in the collection.
He’s thinking when the gun was bought new the wrong box was taken off the shelf and given with the gun at the store. H has no way of knowing for sure.
Seems plausible, and I don’t really care as I would have bought the gun without a box anyway. But, will this hurt the value at all?
