More of the feral family. Momma had just caught a lizard, which the oldest daughter snapped up while the kittens were playing. Momma plopped onto the pavers with a 'Motherhood.......yay.' look on her face.

Last two of the night. 1) The side view of the Queen butterfly is probably my favorite. This particular butterfly is adorned with a impressive amount of white dots. 2) The longtailed skipper here is one of the largest in the skipper family.

Yesterday took a walk around a lake. Quite scenic:



At one point, saw an animal down below:



A closer look and it turned out to be an otter:



I was kinda surprised at the size of the thing. This bad boy was about the size of a medium-sized dog. The only other time I've seen otters around here they were about the size of a sleek cat. Maybe they're different kinds of otters, or maybe the others I saw were juveniles.
