You might check GB for any closed auctions. I would think estimates of $1600 to $1800 are way too high. Planning to shoot it? Some 25s have oversize chamber throats and are not known for accuracy. Some of us would pay a premium for Nickel and some of us would not.

I've heard about the accuracy and the oversize chamber of throats.
I'm OK with it. It's the history I'm collecting really.
I have four 25-5 already and wanting 4" and 8 3/8" in nickel to complete the "set".
I just shot my blue 8 3/8" today for the second time since I got it last summer. A lovely piece and accurate enough For the fun of it, but my 25-2 45 ACP Is super accurate.

At some point, I guess I'll be looking at a 25–3 so I have a 45 colt in 6.5".
Just doing the collector/accumulator thing really.

The 25–3 is always out there somewhere. They made a bunch of them and they float around it seems. There are always two or three on GunBroker and a whole bunch on G.I. at any one time.

The 25–5 4 inch nickel comes up maybe once a month.
I'm just wondering if patience will get me a good one at a better price, or if being too patient will nearly see the price rise as it seems to have done over the last six years
