For the guitarists here

Double necks are fairly common. The most recognizable is the Gibson ES-1275 (6+12) used by Jimmy Page and Don Felder.

Rick Nielson's 5 necks are made by Hamer. While the necks are fully functional he uses them mostly as a stage gimmick.

Michelangelo was the first prominent performer to actually play two necks simultaneously.

I've all but forgotten about Nitro:D

Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson used to do a routine in one song where each had a double neck. That wowed me in 1979.

Kids don't try this at home.

Okay...I can understand having one guitar that's a twelve-string and one that's a six-string...and I've even seen where one is a six-string guitar and the other an eight-string mandolin...but I sure can't get my head around four six-string guitars all in one instrument. Oh, I know, I know...someone is going to point out that you can change tones, tuning, etc. in the middle of a song without changing guitars. Sounds pretty neat, huh? Now here's the reality check. One of those things can weigh anywhere from fifteen to twenty pounds. Rick Nielson's 5-neck Hamer guitar is said to weigh somewhere between 20 and 30 pounds.

Now, speaking from experience, when one is doing a three-hour gig, even a ten-pound guitar (like a Gibson Les Paul) starts feeling pretty heavy by the end of the night.

This is for 'guitarists'?

More like for people with a lot of money to spend on something that they'll never use.

I'm fretting right now over getting my mid 1970 steel string Ibanez acoustic's broken nut fixed and buying a new nylon string acoustic. Like guns, I'll probably keep the Ibanez and buy the nylon string.

I owned a couple Fender Yngwie Malmsteen Strats back in the day. I sold them a few years ago since I have become more of a Fender Custom Shop Strat guy in recent years. More focused on playing with the band at church and not so much shredding. But if I had the money to waste it would be fun to have one of these rare double neck YJM Strats. :D

Wife, "Why do you need so many guitars??"
Me: "Well, they're all different."
"Those two are exactly the same!"
"Oh yeah, but that one is tuned to open D, y'know for 'Both Sides Now' and then I go straight into "If You Could Read My Mind" just by picking up that one."
"Oh..."
She loses interest, not understanding at all, but thinking she is gonna have to listen to the whole lecture if she asks anymore, there are six more guitars to go, and really, she just wants an excuse to order more decorative pillow shams.

The other day I told her,
"I love those new Saint Patrick's Day garden flags you got."
"Oh yes!" She is delighted, "And they were on sale!"

I have one by the house, one by the mailbox, a big one hanging ON the house, and a matching wreath on the front door, which is colored to be reused at Easter also, so I am told, and then in the guest room there are now four new St. Patrick's Day themed decorative pillow shams that match the one we already had.

All of this comes down on Tuesday.
I love this woman and she does not ever ask me why I need another gun.
I am so blessed.
