Sgt. Mike Viet Nam Humor

This reminds me of the first time that I heard the term "whatchamacallit". Had no clue what the individual was talking about,

As a Word
  • Meaning:
A placeholder word for an object or person whose name you've forgotten or don't know.

  • Origin:
It's a compressed form of the phrase "what you may call it" and has been in use since the 1910s, with earlier related terms dating back to the 1590s.

This I had completely forgotten about! A candy bar......
    • Manufacturer: The Hershey Company.

    • Ingredients: It features a combination of peanut-flavored crisp, chewy caramel, and a chocolatey coating.

    • Description: It's known for its unique blend of flavors and textures, offering a sweet treat with a satisfying crunch and chew.

Don't worry, you will grow into it. I went from 145 to 165 in basic.
Understand that. I went from 123 to 165 at Parris Island. On graduation day my Mother put me on every penny scale she saw. Could not believe how much I weighted. When I came home from RVN was 135 and stayed there for two years until I got married. Regular food took me to 145 and stayed there for years.

Had a L/Cpl make coffee once that was like syrup and could not percolate in a 50 cup coffee pot! He had filled the basket inside completely full of coffee out of a 20 pound tin. Once he got the mess cleaned up, he was taught how to make coffee. He make the coffee daily until I rotated home months later. Bet he still remembers the proper way to make coffee.

Long time old friend was PBK Skipper in Vietnam, a chapter about him in the PBR book and several pics of him in" River Patrol Insignia". Sadly he passed two years ago.
