Growing up we had a Wells Fargo around the corner from our house in Hayward, CA. and my mom often said she took my big brother to the opening and he got to shake Dale Robertson's hand. I was only one year old and stuck at home. Actually I didn't know the year this happened until I found these old photos of it online. No familiar faces in the crowd, but there's the bank's address on the stagecoach. I was amazed to find these pictures.

Dale was actually Right Handed.
He taught himself to be a Lefty, to be different, distinctive,
You know- like Me!
I was watching “Wells Fargo” on YOU Tube which got me to look for a reference to that bank opening in town. Being left handed, too, I notice that in the two lefty rigs he wore in the show, the billets are reversed so the buckle is on the left, or holster side. I bet he requested that since he was right handed in other westerns and probably more used to buckling up that way.

Little Joe Cartwright was a lefty as well.

Paul Richards also. He shot Marshall Dillon in the premier episode of Gunsmoke.

IIRC, Festus shot a rifle from the port side, but drew and fired his handgun righty (?)

Been watching Jerry Skinner YouTube videos.
Jerry RIP was a Private Detective in S Mississippi!
Say what? And he did a bunch of celebrity and history related videos.
Like - Dale Robertson.
Just watched it, that’s how I knew about the LH Gun, boxing, WWII , etc.
Dale comes across as a straight up nice guy.
He did get married a bunch of times!

I love his videos and didn't know he died. He sounds just like "The Gray Fox" Richard Farsnworth in his videos. I love how he drove to obscure places in the country and told about what happened there.

After looking again, not sure if the obit I found is YouTuber Jerry Skinner.
In one post he says he lives in Iuka. That’s in the NE corner of MS.
The obit is from Picayune, S MS almost to the coast.
I hope he’s still around!
For one thing, I want to give some feedback on his Randy Quad video!

His ranch in Oklahoma is just a few miles from me. Not sure who owns it now but it hasn't been taken care of very well.

I always enjoyed that show but I really liked the way he had his hat shaped.......... I gave it 1st prize.

Sorry, Roy.

Gabby & Froggy's hats were sort of, well.................
you know.

Yes . Little Joe was also and for some reason, none of the Cartright's had any cartridge loops so must not of ever needed to reload from theirs belts.:D.
They did look good on TV though.

Always enjoyed visiting with him at Tulsa show. He and James Drury were always friendly and talkative. Miss seeing them, may they Rest in Peace.

I made small talk with him at the Tulsa show a few times, he was very interesting and friendly.

Actor Richard Farnsworth (RIP) used to live near Lincoln, NM.
It’s reported that one of his favorite eateries was the Texas Club up the hill in nearby Ruidoso.
Texas Club? Lots of Texans do visit Ruidoso.
But It turns out it was originally owned by Dale Robertson who came out for the horse racing. Dale had a bunch of Texas buddies, he wanted them to feel at home and spend their money!

I met Dale and his very young wife once at a garden and landscape place
in Oklahoma. He was getting pretty long in the tooth and had a pretty
good sized paunch.
That was when he owned Haymaker farm/ranch North of Yukon, Ok.
The last I knew the ranch is owned by a guy named Funk.

I remember Dale Robertson as the star of an old TV show called "Iron Horse." He played a gambler who won a short line railroad in a poker game.
