Best western movie: Last Train From Gun Hill
Best western soundtrack: Hour of the Gun

Theme from Magnificent Seven is always included in these soundtrack lists, and it might very well be the best, but I think Hour of the Gun soundtrack at least ties it, though the latter is seldom mentioned.

The Searchers, Dances with wolves , High Noon, Tombstone with Kirt Russell. The good the bad and the ugly, Once upon a time in the west, Rio Bravo. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid might not have one of the best westerns but it was a lot of fun.

The good the bad the ugly movie for theme song.

Movies:

The Professionals
Ulzana's Raid
The Searchers
Unforgiven
The Unforgiven
Red River
Winchester 73
Dances with Wolves
Open Range
Silverado

Film Scores:

Silverado
The Big Country
Dances with Wolves
Magnificent Seven
Tombstone
Open Range
Red River
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
The Professionals
The Comancheros

And then there's the "Eastern"
for film and score:

Last of the Mohicans (1990s version)

Depends on what you consider to be a “Western.”

On any list I would include “The Fastest Gun Alive” with Glen Ford, despite Russ Tamblyn’s hokey barn dance sequence. I could never understand why that was included.

He was a professional dancer is likely the reason it was included. Fortunately the movie was a good one and wasn't really hurt by Tamblyn's barn performance.

There is the unforgiven then there is The Good, The bad and the ugly and then there is all the rest

I’m not much of a western movie guy but in my opinion, Tombstone is one of the best movies ever.

Not sure if all "Westerns" but....
The Outlaw Josey Wales
Dances With Wolves
Wyatt Earp (with Kevin Costner)
Open Range
The Revenant
True Grit
Tombstone
Death Hunt
Hostiles
Silverado
Young Gun

Many more...

I'll throw some of the older westerns (???)

Wild Bunch (with Holden & Ryan)
Shane
High Noon (Gary Cooper) great score IMHO
Hanging Tree (Gary Cooper)
Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
Red River
Garden of Evil
Treasure of Sierra Madre

May I throw in a vote for:
Paint Your Wagon-"I Was Born Under a Wandering Star" by Lee Marvin

And "They Call the Wind Maria" by Harve Presnell

How the West was Won-also had a great sound track (I still have the album).

I'm kind of partial to a local independent production called "One-Eyed Horse." A number of Single Action Shooting Society members and I got to appear as extras. I was the Mexican who was hanging around in the prize fighting scenes. In the Special SASS Edition DVD I got a credit in the movie and a part in the Special Feature "Shooters on the Set." I just put on the DVD to double check everything. Man, did I look young when that movie was made.

So far Hollywood hasn't called me.

Open Range
the Searchers
Red River
Unforgiven Clint Eastwood
Stagecoach
Dance with Wolves
Valdez Is Coming
Tom Horn
Silverado
Tombstone

Very good choices, no particular order for me though. It's difficult for me to pick favorites when it comes to western movies because I like them all. Valdez Is Coming with Burt Lancaster has long been overlooked when it comes to favorite western movies but it's one of my favorites for sure.
One of my all time favorite Western Movie Soundtracks is the Soundtrack from Once Upon a Time in the West by Ennio Morricone.
