I think I recall VM saying that he does not rechecker.

When I bought this Model 37 3" it came with Pachmayer Grippers. They were very comfortable but a little too sticky for carry purposes. I sold them on this forum and replaced with factory Magnas and Tyler T. Not quite as comfortable but a little more useful and purdy to me.

Is the difference between a fixed-sight Model 19 like shown and a Model 13 the underlug? Or are there other differences?

I just saw a used 442 with ILS for $500 in a Tampa gunshop. I paid $425 for a new no-lock 642 not too long ago. Your deal sounds like a good one.

I sold the combats on here before I bought the stags. Once someone puts some Executioner stags on a gun it's unlikely they will take them off, let alone sell them.

Here's my 65-5 that I got about 6 mos ago. Traded a Glock 19 and some $$ on it, so I figure it cost me about $525. Once I replaced the Combat grips that didn't seem to fit my hand with some Executioner Stags it's become my favorite S&W to shoot.

Here's my 3" Model 37 with Pachmayer Gripper grips. I think they are like the Compac except have finger grooves. They are like new. If you're interested, you can have them for $15 shipped.

My pre-10 M&P dated to 1955. Not as pretty but surprisingly accurate.

I noticed the same thing (maybe different #)on my new 642-1. I didn't remember one on the 642-2 I sold recently.

I saw one recently in the LGS with no noticable flaws for $375. That one sounds like a <$300 gun to me.
