Oh man, double charged reload? That sucks, but it happens. Glad to hear you are OK.
If it was me I would pick up a 9mm Shield and keep an eye out for a .40 barrel. Being able to swap complete slides to change caliber would be convenient.
I have put over 200 rounds through my gun in about 40 minutes. By the time I was done I was barely able to slingshot the slide due to the heat. I just can't imagine getting much more heat into the gun then that without being in "torture test" mode.
Could you see any deformation in the...
That is how all that I have seen have been. There is a visible gap but no vertical or lateral "play" in the mating of the slide and frame. Someone once told be it was designed this way to allow dirt, sand, etc to fall out if it was to find its way into there...not sure how true that is.
I am a bit of a minimalist. My Shield, Full Size M&P, and mags live loaded (no kids in the house) in this case...
The Shield comes out during the day for carry duty and at night it gets returned to the case and the full size gets place on the night stand for home defense.
When I go to...
How can he give advice on a gun he doesn't own? Probably because he has read about this exact issue on this forum multiple times and is knowledgeable on the subject. Believe it or not, the spring orientation actually does appear play a roll in some cases in which an owner complains about not...
Wow. That sounds very intense. I'm glad to hear you and your wife are ok. It sounds like you are still pretty shaken up. Just to clarify, the intruder was your neighbors 15 year old son? Was he hit? How many shots did you fire?
Hey I know you!
I agree completely. I would put my M&P as it sits up against any polymer pistol I have ever shot...including some nicely modded Glocks I have shot.
Could be worse, you could have sent your XDS to SA...
Enjoy that Glock...make sure you list your M&Ps here so one of us have a chance to scoop them up.
Personally, the only time I would feel a little nervous carrying chambered without a safety is during holstering. Once it was holstered and on my body, I would have no reservations at all.
I tried two different leather IWB holsters before I tried Kydex and I haven't looked back. The thinness and how light it is makes it so nice to carry...
