Which is actually a huge problem.

Cabela’s leaves me with sticker shock and I’ve gone there a few times and walked out with nothing because I don’t like getting gouged. Even their dry flies are $3 or $4 EACH. I can get them elsewhere for less than a dollar.

Any ideas?

I’ll be the first to admit I’m too cheap to function at Cabela’s.

The best I ever made out was this Parker 12 ga Trojan shotgun I got in October. Every five years or so something comes along at a compelling price, although I don’t look regularly to see what’s available, and 2 of the 3 firearms I ever purchased there were alerts on a forum by a forum member. I guess I’ll have to look regularly unless I can find something compelling. When I last paid $21.95 for a pound of gunpowder it’s a struggle to pony up now.

The Parker Trojan cost me $999.99. With sales tax and FFL fees, the total cost was $1064.99.

A henley, a flannel shirt and a couple pair of wool socks. That should just about kick the snot out of that 100 bucks.

We are still a gun forum right? Ammo!

Cabelas really took a dive post bps merger, and I'd no longer reccomend their socks/clothing, and yeah their flies are crazy priced, but consumables like ammo, lures, senkos, hooks, what have you are still not crazy there, and you've already got the gift card, might as well use it even if you'd rather have it been to a different store.

Exactly...mrcvs it's NOT COSTING you anything...BE Grateful and use it! What's the old saying: "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth!"

I get that, but I treat the $100 gift card like $100 of my own money, and shall not spend it frivolously.

Beautiful Parker. It looks just like my Dad's. His is in the 169XXX range and it dates to 1915. I'm keeping it in my safe for now. Eventually his Grandson will get it.

Dad got a great deal on it. He bought it for $8 at a Pawn Shop. (Oh, that was in 1939)

$100, that's a whole lot of smoked nuts, dog treats and freeze dried fleas.

Be sure to check the on-line price of anything you decide to purchase. I am not sure what they do now, but I made a purchase there a few years back and for some reason went and looked on-line at the item later that day. It was cheaper on-line. I called the store to inquire and they said they do not automatically give the on-line prices unless you ask them about it prior to check out.

Another thing, they will price match if it is an advertised item and price. Take the ad if in print or your phone with the link. I have done this with a couple of items at the Columbus store.

You can use it for hunting and fishing licenses as well. No markup on those.

Good luck to you.

My local store has Blazer 9mm for $15 a box.
I didn’t like The long checkout line otherwise would have bought some on my last trip.
