First time I heard about it. Anyone here research these red dots or even try one? Seems like a simple solution to an often discussed topic.

The one I saw was made by HEDS and there are various vids on YouTube.

I have a 50mm Tasco Red Dot that is pretty old and still works fine. Uses 3032 batteries. I have it on a Camp 45 Marlin and zeroed for 75 yards (Knowing I'll limit shooting to about 100 yards.) 2MOA dot with variable brightness

I Have a Burris 33mm on a Marlin 45-70 Guide Gun. zeroed to 50 yards with an Anti-Bear (4000 ft lb) handload. It has 7 different reticles and variable brightness.

There is no magnification. Once you zero the dot, it can be anywhere in the field of view and it is still on target. They are very quick to jump from target to target. Most have a automatic shut off to save batteries, that protects from battery damage; but if you think it's on, it might not be!

Ivan, I think you missed the point.

I'm talking about a red dot that attaches magnetically to the slide without the need for any modification to the slide. The HED is said to withstand the action from a .45ACP.

Thought it is an interesting concept but apparently not of any interest here.
