No one can really answer that; I'd work from a Lyman manual to start. It would be a big plus if you cast your own bullets. They will likely outshoot jacketed bullets if you're an experienced caster.i am shooting 657 6.5" at 50 yards off of a bench rest. do you have a load suggestion? what size groups can i expect?
Good for you. Sounds like you're on the right track to success. For handguns, a jacketed bullet offers no advantage over a well fitted cast bullet of the proper alloy for the load. Of course, this includes accuracy.I am using AA#9 for both 215 LSWC and 210 XTP with great 25 yard results.
The 215 LSWC performs better than the XTP in my non-S&W revolver.
