Hi, i bought days ago a S&W 25 Rocky Mtn Ram 1 of 300 and i want to find some more information about this revolver because at the first instance i thought that my revolver is the 1st of 300 made and later found some 1 of 300 online, what means 1 of 300? S&W only made 300 of this revolvers but don't put a special number in each one? or this "1 of 300" is a model, special event or what.

I love this revolver and in 45 Colt is delicious but in just curious about this 1 of 300.

Anywone know if this gray color cylinder is painted or this is the material color? I'm scary to damage this cylinder with any solvent.

thanks in advance for any help.

Beautiful gun.
Sorry, I don't know enough to answer your question.

Very nice. It looks like a stainless steel cylinder to me. Or it could be titanium, but I don't think S&W ever made a titanium cylinder in .45 Colt. If this is intended to be a hunting revolver, my guess is that it's stainless steel. The "1 of 300" designation means it is one of 300 that were made. I have two commemoratives that are 1 of 500 made and the serial numbers indicate where they fall in the sequence of production. Does the serial number start with RMR, which would be Rocky Mountain Ram? Something like RMR0001 would indicate that you have the first one that was made.

Great gun lucky guy !

What a great gun! I've never heard anything about it.
You have a great piece of conversation here and I guess a first class shooter. Congrats !
I hope some of the knowledgeable members here will learn us more about rocky mountains guns !
Thanks for sharing your pics !

That's a beautiful piece, I bought a .41 mag from the same guy on gunbroker, actually debated bidding on the one you got. Good fellow, I bought the .41 and a 625-6 from him and we did a FTF transfer meetin halfway as we are both here in N. Colorado

Well, when i look this revolver for the first instance i thought that S&W made 1 of 300, 2 of 300, 3 of 300 but not, i saw maybe 3-4 more online and all say the same 1 of 300

The serial number is
CTA#### (nothing about Rocky Mountain Ram)
and below in the piece that hold the cylinder have the number "197" maybe my revolver is the "197 of 300" but I'm not sure.

very interesting
