Hi there O Knowledgeable Ones,

My revolver is 5 shot .38 special +P. It has a black finish with the gray titanium cylinder. It has no lock. The barrel is 1 7/8" with a steel sleeve. I'll try to post pictures, but I'm not good at technology. The model # on the yoke reads 337 PD. Serial # is CDU9xxx. It has a Crimson Trace Grip laser on it now, but I have the original grips. Hopefully that is enough to get some information.

What I'd like to know is when it was manufactured. Also how many years was this revolver produced without a lock (my internet search suggests 2 years)? And when was the model discontinued (my search suggests 2004)? Also any idea of market value? I know better than to trust everything you find on the internet, so that's why I'm turning to you all. TIA.

I also read somewhere that at 10.7 ounces it is the lightest revolver S&W ever produced. Anyone know if that is true?

In my neck of the woods, I’d probably expect to see the gunshops asking $800 for a nice one, but since most of the buyers nowadays are fixated on micro 9s, if I were selling mine, I’d be pleasantly surprised to get $500-$600. On the internet… who knows? How patient are you? :D

I can’t help you with production statistics or lock plus/minus. None of that stuff has ever held my attention much, but I do like your revolver. I bought the first 337PD I saw - and was pleased to get it! Once in a while I get it out and still marvel at how light and handy the little devil is.
