SCSW 3rd ED says: Product code 102298 3" S TH TT FL AS SG RB. ANIB price of $500. I got it for $460. I usually compare prices with the BB of Gun Values but can't find it in my edition. Does anyone have the 30th Edition and could shed some light on the value?

I like the gun so $ is really a moot point! I do however need to do something about the Uncle Mike's Santoprene Grips. Round butt finger grooved?? rags

According to the spec. ord. code, it would be the 301st day of 1993.

Very nice find, one of the best J frames ever built.

Rags24,
Fantastic find. You are gonna love that gun. My wife and I each own one. As far as the grips, We have Pachmayr compacs on both of ours. Most folks like the look of wood, but these seem to work best for us.
As an aside, both of our guns have red ramp front, and white outline rears sights. They seem to be uncommon on this model, as most every gun I see had the black sights like yours. Same product code also. No absolutes when it come to S+W.
Enjoy your find,
Tom

Jerry,
My spec order code is 0355
Does it mean 1990 day 355
Thanks,
Tom

I take issue with only the "one of". Im MHO this is the very best J ever built. And I own two 2" Mod 60s plus my beloved Mod 317 and half a dozen other J models. The Pac Compac is a good choice. They looks a lot better than the factory rubber and feels fine. My 60-4, while in the safe wares the best pair of Lady Smith grips I could find.
Rags, not only was that a great find and a great price, your photos are worthy of such a fine S&W. Congratulations !-- Tom

I found a LNIB Model 60-4 several years ago in a local gun shop and bought it without ever putting it down. I really like those "Baby L Frames."

Nice! The shows I've been to seemed to have pretty high prices. That's if you could even get close enough to the tables to see the price. I would have definitely bought that one at that price!

I see the resemblance!

Although the grips are growing on me, I really like wood better, at least to look at. They feel great but have in my mind trying something like this...

Thank you all for the kind comments!

Congratulations, the dash 4 is a dandy little revolver, I bought one a couple of years ago, in unfired condition with box, papers.

Rags: I notice yours has flash chromed target hammer and trigger. The one I have is a target hammer and trigger but they are casehardened.

Mrs. Rags, Sir: Being a new member here, I have to ask....did you arm wrestle the seller for that kind of price?! Holy Moley! If I could find one for anywhere near $460 even close to that condition, I'da thunk I'd died & gone to Heaven! My best pal has one, I have to fondle everytime I go over his house. He paid $475 last Fall & I thought HE did good!
Respectfully, H-F Hank

Good find!! I did not realize the model 60 had an adjustable sight. Is there a particular series of this model or how can you do a search for it? I never bought a model 60 because the ones I saw had fixed sights only.

I have had a 60-4 since they hit the market. I am a sucker for a good "trail gun" and this is arguably the best trail gun ever. I shoot mine well (have shot a number of 96's on a 25 yard timed fire target). I would have opted for a 4" barrel but this is the way they came. I was pleasantly surprised how well it shoots with that 3" double underlug barrel. The weight forward balance helps a BUNCH.

I have shot the heads off Grouse and put rabbits in the pot. I carry it crossdraw and never know I have it on until I need it.

Great little guns. Missed out on a 36-6 so when the 60-4 came along I moved fast.

Too bad they never made a .22 LR version.
