Your thoughts on dept gun buys

Actual value is really in the eye or hand of the purchaser. Regardless of whether the gun is valuable or not, its only worth what someone will give you for it. So with that said, I would say buy one for yourself if you want. Buying them in bulk to resell, you would have to get a much better...

Good Samaritans with guns try to stop road rage

That is a crazy story. But I guess the reality is, they should have stopped doing what they were doing when the guy pulled the gun. Explained what was going on, called the police and things would have been totally different. I can't see blaming the CPL holder in a sense. How bad would you...

So I got a new to me Mill or Mill/drill

I have a very similar looking mill for popping holes in this when the cnc's are busy. Works good. It was a schools mill and had no holes or damage done to it. Ways are excellent and the table moves nice and smooth / accurately. The spindle has a little play in it. I paid $400 for mine with a...

3913 cracked frame - can it be welded?

Got the email and pictures. That is a dozy of a crack. I would say its time to look for something else. Thats not in a good area.

3913 cracked frame - can it be welded?

The problem I would see with a crack, is it was caused by stress , improper casting or machining etc. If it was bad in that area, it might be bad in others. If it cracked that area and its left cracked , it may stress another area and is that area going to be the one that blows up in your hand...

    salt water rusted my knife

If its really bad you could give it a quick dip in acid to get rid of the rust and then clean ( possibly sand or scotch brite ) and oil well.

3913 cracked frame - can it be welded?

I agree with the statement made by the other's on Tig welding. I have been Tig welding for quite some time and know exactly what they are talking about. Anything can be welded. But the end result is not as impressive in some types of materials and situations as explained as well. I would be...

I need a lesson in Scotch Brite Refinishing...

There are several ways to remove scratches or gouges in a stainless gun, 3m pads work pretty well because you can follow the contour of the gun in an area that you might have difficulty with using regular sand paper. Regular sand paper offers better results as there is a wider variety of grits...
