Some things to check: Extractor tension weak? Extractor claw broken or Rounded off?

The Sig will keep is value and is sought after more. If I was you I would keep both.

The notch should line up under the pin(the pin hole), then it will just slide out. Don't take the slid notch past the first part of the pin like you would do with a 1911.
