I suppose bad_man_ one is the guy to ask. Will the factory grip from a 908/3913 fit the 4040pd or are the Lady Smith grips slightly different than the above mentioned ones? I tried to put my 908 grips on my 4040pd to no avail. The Hogues interchange between them however.

I believe it will. I have both models and the slides appear to be identical to me. I have swapped a 908 and 910 slides and they function fine.

I have had factory one s&w mag shipped with the spring upside down which caused the follower to get stuck inside the mag body. My 59 works just fine with the newer factory mags. BTW, stay away from pro-mags. Factory or Mec-Gar are the way to go.

I would agree with you on the sights. I have a 39-2 and 59 that are both nickel. Their nickel front sights contrast well with the lollipop rear sights(is that what they are called?). BTW good pick up

I am probably sure in the minority when I say I prefer the aesthetics of the 908 over the 3913. But, if I saw a 3914 for sale at a reasonable price I wouldn't hesitate. With that said my 908 is one of my most enjoyable pistols I have.

It should. As 18DAI mentioned, I did the same with my 910 (I used one from a 5904 so its blued ) I also put a 3913 guide rod in my 908 as well.
