I initially bought a Shield, but the springs are too hard for my arthritic hands. I sold the Shield and bought a 9c. I liked the 9c so much that I bought a second one. I noticed no difference in carrying, but I'm fairly large (6'2" and 185 lb.).

I have the Glock 30. It's never given me any problems. I like it a lot, much more than its full-size brother, the Glock 21. Right now, the G30 is my backup/off-duty gun.

I believe that the early Glock patents have expired, leaving some doors open for downright imitations.

The 4040PD is a wonderful little gun. There have been several threads discussing it, so I suggest you search for these.

Don't hold your breath. The kook-to-normal ratio in California is much higher than in the rest of the world.

The CS series comes with Hogue rubber grips out of the box.

The 4040 PD does not fit all leather made for a 3913, but it fits all leather made for a 3513 NL or its equivalents. The reason is that some holsters, such as the Mitch Rosen Workman, are fitted for the profile of the front of the frame of the regular 3913.

Both are good guns. That said, the CS45 is too small for my hands and the current 4513TSW has a light rail. IMHO, a light rail is completely unnecessary on a concealment gun. My preference would be for an earlier 4513 thta does not have a light rail. I have the earliest model of the 4513...

To further complicate matters, the 4513 (TSW, BTW) came in two versions. The original version had a 6-round magazine and a partly chopped grip. The later version (is the same size as the 4516 and 457 and) has a 7-round magazine.

I would prefer the 4040. The 4013/4014 is bigger (single stack but bigger frame if it's an old one and double stack if it's a newer one). I believe that it would be hard to find additional magazines for the single-stack 4013/4014. The 4040 is a .40 S&W version of the 3913NL but with a Hogue...

While I completely agree with Wyatt, I must point out that our less-than-ideal Congress has, several times, twisted the interstate-commerce clause beyond recognition. The double nickel is but one example. Increasing the drinking age is another. There are many more.

I find that the Workman style holsters work very well with a tucked-in shirt. I know that Mitch Rosen makes one but I have a faint memory of somebody else also advertising it.

Mine handle very well; they have never had a problem like FTF, FTE, except when extremely dirty or with very poor-quality ammunition. If the price is right, I'd advise you to go for it.

If memory serves, I bought mine (one with stainless finish and one with black finish) within a month or two of each other. I have not noticed any functional or engineering differences. (I consider grip screws and finishes cosmetic differences.) Both of mine are marked 945-1.
