First Range Trip with New Bodyguard 2.0

I reload my 380 ammo for my BG 2.0 but I have never seen a semi auto spread the brass in all directions. I shoot only on our indoor range so I can find all my brass after shooting. I can stand in one position and it still goes all over.

Shield: Talon Grip or Hogue HandAll It.

Totally agree, I have the rubberized Talon grips on all of my polymer frame guns, (Shield, Glocks and Kahrs) they are great. The don't add thickness and I always use a heat gun to help seat the grips. I have never had a problem with them not sticking or coming loose.

    Finally shot my 340PD

Any one that can shoot more than 10 rounds of full power 158 gr jhp rounds in one session is more of a man than me or very very stupid. And as I get older I shy away from shooting anything hotter than 38 spcl +. Still a great carry gun as you don't even realize you are carrying it.

    357 Mag Snubnose questions

Slade, As far as Performance Center guns from S & W they are well worth the difference. Some of the biggest differences are in the trigger action. They are supper smooth and it is not done by installing spring kits but actually working and smoothing the actions I have a 587 PC L comp and it...

The Model 686+/686 For A Concealed Carry?

The biggest thing you need to do is find a good holster that you are comfortable with. I carried one for plain clothes duty in a good shoulder holster (up right) and there are some good high ride belt holsters. As some other respondents answered there are quite a few lighter semi auto handguns...

    Shield Performance Center

I installed the True Glow TFO with the Yellow/Green combination on my PC Shield and put the FO sights from the Shield on my M & P 22. Works great on both.

    Shield Performance Center

I have been asked about the flash from the ported barrel. I have tested my 9 PC Shield in total darkness along with a non ported shield. The flash is no worse with the porting than the non ported barrel. The best thing to do is try various SD rounds (even same rounds different batch run) for a...

What makes the Shield9 so pleasurable to shoot?

Traded a Glock G30 for a Shield (PC) in 9 mm and have never regretted it. The trigger on the PC is fantastic and in my older years the 9 is a lot easier on me. Topped it off with a set of True Glow TFO sights, Talon grips and have one heck of a piece.

    Waxing revolvers

I have used Turtle wax on my blued guns for years. When I was a leo I carried both high blue Colts and S & W revolvers. Waxing them often helped slow down holster wear on the finish. Still wax my blue guns.

    M/63 cylinder binding

When I went through S & W Armorers school for Revolvers they issued a round and square bar of lead, and a small block of wood that looks like a door stop. We laid the revolver with the cylinder open flat on a table top, the block of wood under the ejector rod to help determine the the high spot...

    Sheriff: "you should be carrying"

The Sheriffs of Montgomery County and Butler County Ohio just made the same statement on the news today. It's too bad some of the idiots in Washington doesn't have the same common sense and knowledge.

    Remington versus Mossberg

I am partial to the Remington, might be because that's what was issued to me in LE for 20 years. Both are excellent guns though and I would feel comfortable with either.

    Lets talk about J-Frame Grips......

642 Performance Center Grips I really like the grips that come on the 642 Performance Center Talo Edition. I found that they sell this grip at Altamontco Grips. They are the best feeling, hand fitting grips I have on any of my J Frames. Altamont Company

    governor cylinder release

Check your ejector rod and make sure it is tight. If they loosen up it will make it very difficult to swing out the cylinder when trying to push in the cylinder release.

    Model 642! Talk to me

My favorite 642 Talo Edition I love this 642 Talo Performance Center. The action on it is super slick and the grips fit me like they were custom made.

    Model 642! Talk to me

Your Bianchi holster is a real antique. I have one I bought in the early 70's which I carried a S&W model 36 & 60 in it as a backup and off duty. I was surprised they still make it. I have attached a photo of mine well worn and used. I still carry a 642 Talo and a 340PD in it.

    New PC 586 L-Comp 7-Shot (Talo) Report

DWEVER, I enjoyed your comparison or your 586 L Comp and PC627. Likewise I have a 586 L Comp which I have had for about a year and also a 327 Performance Center 2". Out of the box my 586 has a DA pull of 7 lbs and about the smoothest pull of any S&W I have ever owned. I am surprised yours...

    Why the Cylinder Drag Line?

Revolvers have to be designed like this. A spring maintains tension on the cylinder stop so it will drop into the cylinder stop notch to lock up the cylinder. If you notice there is a small taper to guide the stop into the notch. Needless to say there is always spring tension on the cylinder...

Cleaning 686-4: Lines of Crud Inside Cylinder

I shoot a lot of 38 Spcl in my 357 Mag revolvers but always clean the gun after every session. I use a 40 cal bore brush to do my cylinder. When on the range I will usually shoot 357 rounds first and if I am shooting 38's I will shoot them last. If you shoot your 38 rounds before 357 you may...

    Retiring the 686

I retired my Model 66-4" years ago when I retired from Law Enforcement. It saved my hide many times but my biggest mistake was selling it. I do have a 4" 686 now which I really like along with 6 other S & W revolvers. I still carry and shoot them on a regular basis. My favorite carry though is...
