buttstock removal
hi all, newby question im sure.. how can I remove my buttstock on my 15 22??
any help is greatly appreciated and may I say this forum is awesome, ive been sneaking on and reading threads for over a month now and figured it would be worth it to join!

The lever that you use to adjust the stock. Pull it straight down as far as it will go while pulling the whole stock back past the farthest adjustment point. It will slide off. Unless you have a NY/CT/NJ model, in which case you would need to unpin the stock first.

tried that and no luck, what should I use to unpin it?

^Nailed it. Don't be afraid to manhandle it a little bit, unless of course, it's pinned.

If you can change the stock position, it is not a pinned version.

Any stock that you like made for a mil-spec extension.

If the wobble bothers you, and you wish to change from the original stock, most around here love the Magpul CTR. I know I do. It has a friction lock that keeps everything perfectly tight, with no wobble.

I second the CTR. I have the Magpul MOE version, and I do like it, but it does wobble. I'm thinking of turning it FDE someday, so if I do, CTR it is!

Still satisfied with my Velcro-reinforced original stock. Wobble-free for darn-near free!
Plus it fits my GI sling.

Did you put Velcro in the stock or on the receiver extension? Ive got some Velcro.
